Georgetown - fought back to 5-2 in league play with the big win at Xavier but stuck with an RPI of 72. Hoyas desperately need a win in this game to improve their OOC resume and prevent having a huge # of losses come the end of the season (projected to have 13 as is). A road win over #66 in RPI would be solid. This game could show if the Hoyas have truly turned the corner and/or are capable of playing consistently well. The best they have done this season is to string together 5 wins in a row - all at home - mostly against garbage teams.
SHU-X should be a fun game to watch - Xavier needs to bounce back from the loss to the Hoyas and is unlikely to lose consecutive home games (if they think they are going to challenge for a 1 or 2 seed especially). The Hall suffered the tough home loss to Villanova and wants to avoid slipping below .500 in conference play.
Perhaps the most desperate team in the BE right now is Butler - their starting PG, Lewis, did not make the trip for this game and a loss puts them 3 games below .500 in league play. A team that looked to be in great shape for a nice NCAA bid is slipping into bubble status and projected to complete the regular season at .500 in BE games. Creighton, with a W, moves into a tie for 2nd place in the conference.
Marq @ St. John's - these teams are toast.
