My understanding is that an "it's official" announcement has not occurred regarding the St. John's assistant job.

Word is that they loved Thibs but have been trying to get him to bring an offensive specialist on as an assistant for a few years. Thibs refused. Relationship fell apart.

Thibs had the best offensive assistant coach in the league until Gar let him go in 2013. He's now on the verge of winning a title sitting next to Steve Kerr. Thibs wanted Adams retained; Forman let him go.
