UNH To The Playoffs

What a surprise!!!
So they get a home game vs Colgate who won the Pat conference. Fordham who Colgate beat yesterday goes to Chattanooga. Pat league does not get a home game but has to be happy to get two teams in.Neither team is Bucknell or Lafayette Cat foes in 2016. Lafayette finished 1-10, Bucknell 2-9

Shocked we got a 5. We are going to struggle with unh assuming they win. Hate seeing all 4 caa teams potentially meeting in round 2

what could have been if we had won on Saturday....we would have been in a winnable game this weekend and then face another CAA team on the next Saturday. Damn!

The CAA is represented by the UNH AD on the selection committee.

They are deserving at 7-4. Surprised slightly that they get a rematch game vs. PL champ Colgate.

Committee "rewarded" Colgate by sending PL runner up Fordham to Chattanooga.

Home games are determined by sealed bids not merit of record.

Committee took 6-5 Western Illinois over 7-4 North Dakota & Towson.

Nova beats Penn and have 7 wins they are in. Season filled with preseason promise just didn't play out. It happens.

Lehigh & Lafayette have Villanova on their 2016 season schedule in print. Bucknell was mentioned by Coach Talley on his radio show. The only certainty is 2 PL games next season.

Good luck to you guys. Rep the CAA well.

It's quite obvious that the committee is more interested in the bottom line than creating compelling not seen before match ups. Regionalization is a reality at this level and leads for rematches all over.

All 5 MIssouri Valley teams are on the same side of the bracket and our 4 CAA teams look destined for rematches. All the $$$ is hoarded by the P5 schools and regional rematches are the price the FCS pays.

Even without JR, Cats shouldn't have lost to Penn or Towson, especially Penn. They were the killers. The only game they really didn't have a chance to win was William and Mary. They were never in that game. UCONN was even a game they could have won.

correction - the only certainty is Cats play two weak Pat Conference teams.

Penn was a very good team. Cats were not ready to play a good Penn team. Shame on coaches and senior leaders.

Not a big fan AT ALL how they set up the brackets for CAA teams. If W&M wins, they immediately have to play Richmond, if UNH wins, they immediately have to play JMU. First off, I want other conferences to get a taste of how tough the CAA is, the chance for that is now obviously diminished, and now the CAA only has the chance to get 2 teams past the 2nd round. Not a fan of that either.

I hear you, but the FCS selection committee 1st & foremost task is to make $$$ or lose as little as possible.

Thus, you have teams being regionalized & rematches from the regular season happening as early as the 1st round (Colgate vs. UNH) and several in conference rematches potentially in round 2 including the CAA.

Life in a world where 60 FBS schools have taken all the riches of TV revenue & left the rest of the FBS & FCS to live on their leftover scraps.

The FCS committee isn't going to be called out for all these regional rematches except by a few fans like us.

It get worse in D2 & D3 where it's very rare to see a team leave their region. It's the top 6 in the east & if you are 7th you stay home usually no matter how good you may be compared to other teams in other regions.

I prefer scheduling playoff games regionally for the first 2 rounds. Keeps travel costs to a minimum. Less time lost from school or work.

I also applaud the steps UNH, JMU, Richmond & URI are taking/have taken to upgrade their facilities. VU & W&M have the last Taft-era facilities in the CAA. And I don't mean Robert Taft.

With so many good FCS (1-AA) schools leaving for the supposedly greener pastures of FBS and with the Ivy, SWAC and MEAC conferences not sending their champions, 24 teams is at least 4 schools too many. Probably 8 too many.
It's not as watered down as the Bowl system yet but it's getting there.

Wow

You act like villanova football actually makes money and it is hoarded by so,e other schoolS? You should just be happy that your administration is foolish enough to sacrifice other sports programs like basketball, men and women's soccer, and track, so that the few hundred of you who care about nova football can have a team.

Don't go acting like you are big and bad like temple and that you deserve more hand outs.

How the hell can a Temple guy say another school's football program is hurting other sports? Your football program is built on the backs of other sports that TU dropped. Calling VU administration foolish is comical coming from a school with some really foolish football plans. The VU basketball program is well and adequately funded.
Temple has your own attendance problems in football and basketball.
In football and men's basketball, Villanova holds the overall series winning edge v TU.

UE,

Just another troll who pumps his chest out everytime that Temple wins a few games. Another who doesn't let facts get in the way of good story.

It's a temporary nuisance. Nothing more. Ruhle will leave eventually & the Owls will have little to hoot about.

What a surprise!!!
Our Cats have wins over two playoff teams, Fordham and Richmond. UR got seeded at #7. W&M the other foe of VU crushed us. If UNH wins they go to JMU. If W&M wins they go to Richmond(again). I will also keep watch on good old Sam Houston St and our old friend KC Keeler.

I could care less what that Temple troll says about Villanova Athletics. Our Football program does not have to take a back seat to anyone.

DC,

You have obviously missed it though W&M is in the final stages of completing a $27M renovation (much needed) to Zable Stadium. The renovation includes new seating, an upper deck on the west side, new suites and a new press box. Also updated, all concessions and restrooms. The new structure has been visible all season and will be ready for the 2016 season.

W&M started the process about 5 years ago when they constructed the Laycock Center in the NW corner of Zable. This provided a complete structure and center for the football program - locker room, offices, training rooms, etc. Really nice set-up.

Sorry we are off the schedule next year.
