VUSports: How is your leg doing?

Daniel Ochefu: It is doing fine. We don’t play until Friday so I guess I am going to get some rest, some ice and some treatment. I hope to be back to 100% by game time.

VUSports: So the doctors and Jeff Pierce think that a week’s rest is what it will take - nothing else much special that needs to be done?

Daniel Ochefu: I am just a couple days rest away. I couldn’t get the type of rest it needed - those couple days - in the regular season because we were playing back-to-back-to-back games. In the next couple days I am not going to be stressing it as much so it is definitely going to get better.

VUSports: Better in terms of pushing off of it - cutting and jumping?

Daniel Ochefu: I have gotten used to the pain and the rest will help it to subside altogether as I get my strength back.

VUSports: How is this Selection Sunday different for you than the previous three?

Daniel Ochefu: We have been here so many times that it is business for us now. Our guys have a great mindset going into the tournament. We can’t worry about our shortcomings in the past. We have to work on the little things that have helped us to keep getting better and doing those things through the game on Friday.

VUSports: How does it feel that the talking heads on TV are already picking Iowa to beat you?

Daniel Ochefu: Everybody has their own opinions. We let the chatter happen on the outside and we are going to focus on what we need to take care of - and that is going out and giving 100% effort on the court and having a great attitude.

VUSports: Do you feel as if things may have been a little bit different in NY had you been 100% healthy?

Daniel Ochefu: Definitely, I think it would have been but that is not an excuse not to win. We take a lot of pride in all the guys we can put in. We have a lot of confidence in Darryl Reynolds. He did a great job stepping up big time for us on the glass and on the offensive end as well.

VUSports: Thanks for all the work you have put in over four years. It has been a pleasure watching you play. Good luck.

Daniel Ochefu: Thank you. I appreciate that.
