Sitting here listening to the sports talk show and all the predictions........and got to thinking about what Nova Nation should be thinking and hoping for. Basically, think we all have the same hopes, but, maybe looking a little deeper we might or should have some other hopes for this event.
First thing popping to mind is thanking all the Nova Nation that is in Houston showing the love and support of our team, win or lose; and hope all their travels are completed safely.
Next, I recalled something that a coach of mine used to tell us, win or lose always show respect, to your teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, and the game itself.
And, hope that both teams play up to their ability; that there are no injuries. That the officials see and make the correct calls and have no affect on the outcome; but, if they do, accept it as part of the game, win or lose.
I'll stick this in because I saw it in the Inquirer this morning; hope that Jay Wright remains at Nova until he retires and isn't wooed by the NBA or any other school.
Not hoping for any miracles, don't think we need them; just continue to play at the level we have seen for the last three weeks.
And finally, win or lose, we should all thank and appreciate the best season ever, in any sport that Nova has ever experienced. Thank you, and we'll never forget...............
Jay Wright and staff, Arch, Daniel, Josh, Kris, Jalen, Mikal, Phil, Darryl, Donte, Tim, Henry, Eric, Patrick, & Kevin.
Villanova Wildcats, forever.
