I was sitting at the GT game the other day, and during a TO I was looking up at the scoreboard and it occurred to me that this game was part of something called "the Kickoff NIT." Did that replace the old Preseason NIT? What ever happened to the 16-team field that ended up with the 4 winners playing on Wed/Fri night at MSG?
Wasn't the Akron game part of this field? Is it not a tournament anymore? The Stanford game was on our schedule regardless of whether we won or lost vs. Akron. So if we lost to Akron, we still would have advanced to the Barclay's Center?
