Men now up to #5 in latest XC rankings. Top 5 finish at nationals would be a great capper to the season.

As I best can tell there isn't a runner from a foreign country
on either team, but contrary to what we might imagine there
aren't many central n. y. kids on either roster. I have heard that this
new guy (fox?) can really coach.

Chris Fox has been at Syracuse for the past nine years and won three straight Big East XC titles (2010-12). He was a sub 28 minute 10Ker and sub-4 guy.
Justyn Knight (FR, Ontario) is their #2 man. Ran low 14's for 5K in high school. Doesn't fit Nova's mold for middle distance.

Fox's good. Rumored to be involved with a few other jobs but he's stayed. From what I understand he recruits Canada and upstate hard but for those not familiar with the SU area winter starts in Nov and ends in March and there isn't a letup like they have in New England. SU has to be a tough sell.

I guess I hadn't heard of Fox because the Cuse hasn't
been that good until recently. Indoor running might never
replace outdoor, but the kids up here get a good dose of
indoor.
We missed the winter that killed upstate yesterday; having
lived about twenty miles south of Colgate we miss a great
many blasts. If we get one, I am will survive. I have been up here
for about fifty six years. But I will be down to Penn in April.

My reaction to the drop out question was she had dropped out of school ... That raises all sorts of flags. Very glad is was what it was. Gina and Marcus need to get more people like her.
