Arch and Ochefu: Best Pound for Pound Reccruting Class in School History?

These guys came in right when the program was starting to slip. And both became four-year starters who helped Jay rebuild the structure. Unselfish guys who set the tone. But you can't lead if you don't deliver on the court.

Ochefu was asked about making the Final Four. He got a little wistful and talked about how they wanted to win not just for themselves but guys like Darrun Hilliard, Mouph and JVP who taught him how to lead. He credited all the prior captains.

Defense

We just held Kansas, top overall seed, to their lowest point total of the season.

I love the swarming, grinding, hustle defense.

Jay and staff deserve a ton of credit for that 2-3 match up zone. Huge weapon especially when we change defenses from that, to the 1-2-2 press, to straight man to man.

I thought we were doomed after that 13-19 season.

Jay deserves a ton of credit for looking in the mirror and changing himself and being honest with himself.

They better name a court after this guy one day. Multiple final hours for a little catholic school from the north east.

What a run. The lights weren't too bright. The stage wasn't too big. Not bad for a "mid-major" conference.

Go Cats. Now let's win this thing.

Barkley

He's gotten a lot of criticism the last few years for being in studio for the NCAA tournament and not knowing anything about the teams, players, coaches. etc. But I have to say, he's improved. I thought both weekends he provided some decent insight this year, especially last night. He credited Jay at halftime for forcing Kansas to slow down and play at his speed.

He's not there to tell you the top 8th graders each school is recruiting. But I thought this year he is actually watching the games and telling you what's going on.

Great perspective from Butler fans

What else is there to do besides read about Villanova? Loved this post from a butler fan:

The most impressive thing about Villanova? Its belief. Cats act like they've been there before when they haven't. Amazing confidence.

-----------

This is a really good point by Rothstein. Nova's talent doesn't wow you, but they carry themselves well. They aren't cocky, but they give off this vibe of "no way are you winning this game." VERY tough minded group. Butler really needs more of that kind of mindset on their roster IMO. I am hoping Baldwin and Brunk help in that regard.

Another guy called them machine like. 4 years in the making!

Louisville Recap...

sitting in hotel room waiting for my boys to get their hungover bodies in gear so we can embark on 11 1/2 hour ride home.

My thoughts:

1. We won with our C game
2. Mikal Bridges won the game
3. I love this team, every player, coach, priest, trainer, etc...
4. I got to meet ACE, novaworm, djrun and USMC and many others. All great people!!
5. Spending this weekend with my two boys was absolutely the greatest experience of my life. I recommend all fathers and sons/daughters do the same!

God bless this team, and God bless Jerrold Wright!

Happy Easter everyone!
