'Nova-Butler gamewatch at Tilted Kilt in KOP ...

If you're looking for somewhere to watch Sun. night's 'Nova-Butler game, a bunch of us will be getting together at Tilted Kilt in King of Prussia (http://tiltedkilt.com/king-of-prussia/). Although the game isn't scheduled to start on FOX Sports 1 until just after 7:30 p.m., we'll have a room reserved for us on the second floor of Tilted Kilt starting at 6 p.m.

Please note that we'll be in a room on the SECOND FLOOR (not the first floor).

As always, the audio will be on for the game.

(For those interested, we'll have the Packers-Redskins game, which is scheduled to start at approx. 4:40 p.m., on numerous TVs before the 'Nova-Butler game gets underway and on at least one TV during the 'Nova-Butler game.)

Butler Thoughts

Seen Butler play about 5 or 6 times this year. I think we match up really well with this team. We all know what Dunham brings to the table, his shooting as been spotty this season but he is a volume guy. Going to need to put a combo of Hart/Bridges to bother his shot. I think the players have the aggressiveness and length to give him issues. I think Jenkins matchs up really well with Jones, Jones isnt crazy quick, kind of has an old man's game. I think Jenkins can give him issues and stay in front of him. At center I like the Ochefu match up he has the height over Wideman and Chabazz. He is going to need though to be very diligent on the board, Butler is very good at rebounding both from the forward and guard position, they are scrappy team. Tyler Lewis is a solid player but he doesnt have the same defensive impact as Barlow. The guy that may worry me the most is Kellan Martin, I think he is a very solid player and gave us issues last year. He is a bigger guard and deceptively quick and can also shoot the three if needed. Interesting to see how Jay balances the line ups as he may have to get Bridges, Jenkins, Hart out there to guard their bigger guards Martin, Jones, and Dunham at times, they will be very physical with Booth and Brunson.

Hinkle is a tough place to play, last year Hillard bailed us out of a very poor shooting night. I worry Dunham will shoot very well at home and its a late Sunday start, not a fan of those. I think we can expose some of the weak defense that Butler has been playing, run the offense through Danny O, make cuts, and drive the ball, have a feeling it will be an off shooting night. Need to grind out these wins on the road.

Will be there in my Nova blue, pumped for my first visit to Hinkle. Promise to bring the Nova noise.

Christmas Came Early

So there are few things on my bucket list from a sports view:

1. Kentucky Derby
2. Watch Nova play in a National Championship Game
3. Go to one Super Bowl
4. Watch Nova play in Hinkle home of one of my all time favorite movies.

Well this morning while I was arranging a work trip my wife spilled the beans for scheduling purposes. I will be making the trip in January with my Pops to see the game. We are staying at the Marriott in downtown Indy. Any suggestions as far as food, things to do (we will be there all day Saturday) in Indy would be great. Hoping to see some other members on the board there too!

My wife set the bar high this Christmas, tough act to follow.

JIMMY BOEHEIM....CRY BABY AGAIN....THROWS HOPKINS UNDER THE BUS

THE GOLD DIGGING NOSE PICKER IS AT IT AGAIN......CRYING ABOUT HIS SEVERE PUNISHMENT....VINTAGE BOEHIEM.....BLAMING EVERY ONE EXCEPT HIMSELF...........HE IS CRYING THAT HE NEEDS MORE GOOD PLAYERS ETC.....HE IS CRYIN ABOUT SCHOLARSHIP REDUCTION...RECUTING SANCTIONS ETC......BUT......HE IS UPSET WITH THE SIX LOSSESS.......HE SHOWS HIS TRUE LOYALTY AND CONFIDENCE IN HIS LONG TIME ASST COACH WHO HAS DONE EVERYTHING BUT POLISH JIMS SHOES OVER THE YEARS.......WHEN HE STATES...YOU CANT HAVE SOMEBODY COACH YOUR TEAM..........MIKES G O I N G TO BE A GOOD COACH..BUT HES COACHING MY TEAM.........ITS NOT HIS TEAM, AND YOU CANT DO THAT............WELL SMU WENT UNDEFEATED FOR EIGHT GAMES TILL LARRY BROWN GOT BACK....................ALL ON ZAGS....SOMEONE CAN LINK...............JIMS GREATEST LEGACY HE WILL LEAVE IN HIS COACHING...IS ONE OF THE WORST GRADUATION RATES..IN MODERN COLLEGE BASKETBALLL.AND I PROVIDED MANY LINKS TO THIS FACT.......NOT AN OPIOION.....A FACT.......FRAUD AND CHEATER......

Ranking BE Programs

During the long ride to the Nova / Seton Hall game my sons and I had an interesting conversation. I ask them to rank BE programs from most liked to least liked and reasons why. I thought it might be interesting getting others takes on this.........I would rank them as follows:

1. Nova - no explanation needed....my
favorite for close to 50 years
2. Providence - seems to play hard and give
a blue-collar effort, good coaching...easy to
root for
3. Butler - back to back championship games
with great fans. A program that does things
the right way. Loved their commercial with
the bull dog during their first year in the BE
.....Hinkle Field House & Hoosier Hype.
4. Creighton - love their fans and what they
bring to every home game - great
atmosphere. I never felt comfortable in
Saturday's game ( probably because of
that home court advantage), even with a
Double digit lead.
5. Marquette - I flip flopped with 4,5 & 6,
probably because of their struggles this
year. Have had some great games (Nardi
For 3 and the lead - think that was
Marquette.....the come from behind BE
tourney win
6. Xavier - this was tougher.....with Reynolds
In the mix.....easy player to dislike, just like
Devendorf or Dudley....nice to have
another BE team get attention. Glad they
Joined.
7. G-Town - still hard to root for, maybe time
to let by-gones be by-gones....no more
Hoya Paranoia.....want them to be strong.
8. St. John's - will they ever be relevant
again? Hope the new coaching staff gets
Them towards the top of the league soon.
9. Seton Hall - easy to dislike as of late for
Many of the reasons posted before and
after Wednesday's game.
10. DePaul - ouch.....long over due
10A. Rutgers - even though they are in a
different league, they should always be at
The bottom of any list!

Got some 2018 sleeper guards for you

G Rasheed Brown-Lake Clifton HS Baltimore, MD. Rugged, tough, Villanova type guard. More of a positionless guard..not a true point/not a true 2. I believe I posted about his this summer when I saw him in summer league? Well, he has improved so much in the last 5-6 months. I think he has a chance to be a HM guard. He needs to go somewhere where they recruit guards, not positions(sound familiar??) Maybe 6-1 or 6-2 right now. Love this kid

Also, I will be closely watching 6-0 guard Brendan Adams Calvert Hall. Played behind Nico Clareth and Drew Edwards last year, so didn't do much. Did nothing in the Summer league game I saw. Putting in the work now. Been a solid double figure scorer this season. Looks like a completely different player. Didn't know it was the same kid. His brother Jaylen Adams is totally frying the Atlantic 10 right now as a sophomore. Jaylen started alongside Phil Booth for 3 seasons at Mount Saint Joe. Jaylen was a late bloomer but some thought he was a better player than Phil.

Yeah, I know, neither are ranked and I have a Maryland bias so they probably won't amount to nothin but....

Sat/Sun Big East Action

SATURDAY:
DePaul (0-3) @ Georgetown (2-1) Noon FS1(kenpom 82% chance of GTown win)
Creighton (2-1) @ Seton Hall (2-1) 2PM FS1 (72% chance of SHU win)
St. John's (0-3) @ Marquette (1-2) 2PM FSN (88% chance of Marq win)

Most interesting game on Saturday is Creighton at the Hall. Both teams started 2-1 with losses to Villanova. Which team will trend up and which one down? The Whitehead vs. Watson PG match-up should be fun to watch. Will Groselle take the SHU front line to the cleaners the way Ochefu did. St. John's could surprise if Marq suffers the kind of let down that teams with young guards can have - doubt it though. Georgetown drew a particularly easy start to their BE schedule - @DeP, Marq, @Creigh, DePaul, @SJU ... anything less than 4-1 is a disappointment for the Hoyas.

SUNDAY:
Villanova (3-0) @ Butler (1-2) 7:30PM FS1 (67% chance of VU win)

This game should be fun. The two previous match-ups at Hinkle were instant classics. Expecting more of the same on Sunday night!

Prospect-Big Time Seats At Tonight's Hoops Game

First of all another very good win. OK you were first row court side, I know the others sitting beside you. To your left a great VU family. Mom and dad come down to VU from Wilkes Barre. Big donors , mostly to baseball. To their right was one of VU best donors to the athletic fund. Comes up from Baltimore for most football and basketball games. Former VU football player. You my friend were in good company.

Big Ten-Big East

When you look at the teams, the bottom SEVEN teams in the Big Ten are Bad teams.....top tier teams shouldn't lose to any of them.
In the BE,any of top Eight are tough outs, and you know St. Johns will improve,I know nothing about DePaul.
Adding Rutgers was Genius to strengthen their conference.....Although I'm sure Rutgers enjoys cashing the checks!
