Tragedy at Notre Dame

My large extended family, without a Notre Dame fan among us, has joined together to send our prayers and sympathies to the entire Notre Dame community. A tragic campus accident has taken the life of a young man one day before his scheduled graduation. A special prayer is extended for the Class of 2015. Incidentally, during Villanova's Friday graduation ceremony, Father Peter recognized two young men from this graduating class who had passed away by asking their classmates the "raise their V's in a moment of silence" for these two young men - a powerful moment.

Garo Yepremian remembered

Passed away today. Great kicker, even better guy. I had the luxury of meeting him many times as he was friends with a family friend. I'll never forget being at his house when I was younger for a Super Bowl party and being in awe off he NFL memorabilia in his basement. He had a lot of Philly memorabilia to and gave me a game used Ron Hextall stick because he overhead me saying he was my favorite hockey player.

He died of brain cancer - something he was heavily involved raising money for because his sons wife passed away from it. He was befor my time, but he was a legend in the Armenian community. RIP.

Molivero/Selmore

It's with a heavy heart that I post today that our fellow Villanovan and Benchwarner, Molivero, passed away last week unexpectedly. I know he had met many posters throughout the years at games, gamewatches, and happy hours. A huge sports fan and even bigger Villanova fan, he was a valued member of the Benchwarmers community. Always down for a friendly wager, I remember him proudly showing off his check from adp (I believe it was in mrs adps name) for their $50 wager on Ryan Howards HRs last season. More than anyone I know, he was always coordinating to meet up with Benchwarmers, which I think is a true testament to his love of this community and Villanova basketball. May he rest in peace.

Ashley Madison.com Ads

Put Stern on and just heard their ads. For those of you not familiar with the site (unlikely on this forum) and their ads, from what I gather it's a service that provides discrete hook up services. My guess is no money is "exchanged" so that gets around prostitution issues. To the point, the ads are a married couple where the husband finds his wife's profile via Facebook or something. She then tells him how she loves him but needs passion and an open marriage. She loves him but neeeds meaningless sex. She convinces him he needs the same and this is how to make their marriage better.

I was floored. This is where we are as a society? Obviously the answer is yes and they are paying good money to advertise in this manner. Question: is this just another sign our society has gone to complete heck? Am I sounding like a Republican fuddy-duddy and this is the new normal? Is this an affront to soceity and truly disgusting (my view)? Is this brilliant advertising? How does Comcase get the awesome Rob Lowe ads pulled and this remains? Please enlighten me as very little surprises me...I'm a lobbyist for crying ouit loud. This was utterly tasteless. Note, the irony of saying anything said or advertised during Howard Stern is tasteless was not lost on me.
