Cats Get Impressive 92-70 Win Over Seton Hall

As I mentioned in the update yesterday, I wasn't able to see the whole game but thanks to modern technology I was able to see some of it. And I'm glad I did, as it was an impressive performance, as Nova thumped the Pirates 92-70. The Cats shot the lights out, and when they perform like that offensively they are going to be tough to beat. They shot 67% from the field and 57% from three. Despite giving up 11 offensive rebounds, Nova was able to win the overall rebounding battle 26-23, an impressive feat without without Darryl Reynolds and against a very good rebounding team. I honestly thought that if Reynolds was unable to play that this game would be tight and had a chance to go poorly.

Brunson and Jenkins led the way with 22 apiece. Brunson was a perfect 7-7 from the field and added 10 assists and four rebounds. Jenkins had an encouraging performance, shooting 8-10 from the field and 5-6 from three. Hart was excellent with 19 points on 8-16 shooting. And Bridges continued his fine play, with 15 points on 5-8.

From what I was able to see and looking at the box score, it was a complete effort from the Cats with a lot to like. Nova fans have to be thrilled to see Jenkins find his stroke, while Hart continued his POY ways and Brunson builds on an impressive season, with Bridges continuing his steady play. A very good win for the shorthanded Cats, and with the victory Nova can clinch the regular season Big East title on Wednesday night with a win over Butler or with an unlikely Butler loss to DePaul tomorrow.

Updates: Homepage Makeover, others

Hey guys, Rivals is in the process of working on a face lift for the homepage. I will provide a link so everyone can start to check it out. Rivals believes that the update should be performing close to perfectly, but there could be some remaining bugs or hiccups that need to be worked out. There could also be some small changes before the final product is rolled out, but this should give you a pretty good idea of what it will look like and how you can navigate it. Any feedback on what you like, what you don't like, or any issues you may have encountered is welcome.

Also, unfortunately I have to travel tomorrow and will be out of town for a few days. Due to the travel schedule, I may not be able to get a recap up of the game tomorrow, and there is a possibility that a preview of the Butler game may not make it up as well, although I am hoping to be able to get that up. A recap of Butler will mark a return to regular posting. I will still be accessing the board and will be paying attention should anything major go down while I'm away. Just wanted to let everyone know in case they were looking for a recap and wondering where it/I was. I apologize for any inconvenience, and am looking forward to getting back and enjoying the stretch run and March Madness with everyone.

The women continue to impress. They seem to get better every week. We know about Siofra C-B. And she does not disappoint. Pay attention to Sammy Bockoven. Recall her outstanding leg on Women's 4x1500 at Penn, last year. This all bodes well for this year's Penn Relays - and Angel P will be there. Even the recruiting goes well with Rachel McArthur. Like her.

The men? Was impressed with Casey Comber's 4:07.8 mile. Did not think he was much of a miler, but surprise. Right now, a competitive Men's 4xMile for Villanova at Penn seems questionable, which does not speak well. Men's recruiting? Again, questionable. It is still early and there are still some very fine runners out there. But is VU in the hunt? Several years ago, Marcus sweet-talked Brian Long into coming to Villanova at the Penn Relays. Point; There is time and Marcus can be a charmer and he does work hard. Still waiting for VU to discover its own Clayton Murphy (since big names do not seem to be interested).
