Today's USA Today (print). Talk about slights

I just checked into my hotel and picked up the free USA today in the lobby.

Pretty funny Big East slight on the NCAA page (6C).

NCAA BId Outlook list: (locks, probable, bubble by conference) AAC, ACC, Big10, Big12, Pac12, SEC, "other conferences". NOT ONE MENTION OF BIG EAST EVEN I. OTHER CONFERENCES

Next to this is an article " it's crunch time for teams on NCAA bubble". No Big East bubble teams in the 25 team list

Luckily the Top 25 is on the bottom of the page, so I am confident that Villanova does exist.

This is a pretty funny error (has to be, right?)

OT: Interesting Article on B12 expansion and ESPN, Fox and Long Horn Network losing money

Sure seems like the B12 will add a couple of teams. Confirmation yet again that ESPN, Fox and the Long Horn Network are losing money, but in the case of ESPN and Fox, it makes it appear that they want more content to stem the losses. Do others read it that way?

I would guess you'll see two teams from the AAC plucked in the next 6 months. The B12 is being deliberate because the feeling is they rushed to take WVU and should've taken Louisville.

Thoughts on this trade now?

The ventriloquist doll is basically a bench player for the Bucks at this point.

Looks like the old Hinkster may have been right peddling to aid the tank last year and move him for that Lakers pick.

And he's hurt now.

Jay Wright comments ...

... from coaches teleconference today :

On BE awards for his guys:

"We are very proud of our guys. Very happy for Josh to be a unanimous selection. He has had an outstanding year. Always happy that Arch is recognized. He is the heart and soul of our team. He just does whatever is needed. Scoring wasn't needed by him this year so he just did everything else. He is a great leader. For Daniel to be recognized is nice also. He had a very good year and some weird challenges with the concussion and some injuries but he has played through them all and been a true warrior. Jalen Brunson has had a great freshman year. It is not easy to come in and play with a lot of established guys but he handled it well and played to win. I was really proud of him.

What's the one opponent you don't want to see the first weekend?

What's the one team you don't want to see in the 8/9 game in our region? Obviously as a top seed we should be able to beat any of the 8/9 seeds but we all know that hasn't been the case recently.

I wouldn't be thrilled to see Wichita St and I don't love the idea of a rematch with city rivals like St Joe's or Temple but I think the team that would give me the most heartburn is Syracuse. Too much coaching familiarity, zone D combined with our sometimes dreadful 3-pt shooting and a Brooklyn venue that might feel like a road game with all the Orange fans in NYC.

Grilling help - instant thermometer

I got a thermopop last year towards the end of the season and really only used it a couple times but never got the hang of it. I grilled a couple steaks last night and tried to use it but I still can't get it right. I was trying to cook a couple t bone steaks to a medium rare/medium temp. So I got the grill on and preheated, seared each side for 1 minute on high and then went down to medium for about 5 minutes on each side. Once I flipped I started to check the temp with the thermopop. I wanted to cook the steak to a temp of around 130 so I aimed to take them off the grill at 125ish. The problem I am having is that when the steak is on the grill and I start to gauge the temp I am getting very high numbers so it is tough to judge the temp. I have had times where I take it off and it's under cooked or I leave it on and it's a little over cooked. Am I missing something with how to use this? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

senior milestones still in reach

Ryan Arcidiacono needs 30 points to get to 1500 for his career.
If he does, he will be the first Villanova player ever to have 1500+ points and 500+ assists.

Also, if Arch plays in 5 more games he will be the first Wildcat ever to play in 140 games in a 'Nova uniform.

Daniel Ochefu needs 67 points to get to 1,000 career points.
He needs 22 rebounds to become only the 8th Villanova player to ever grab 900+ rebounds.

Villanova Alums want to help a current Villanova student make the trip to NCAA Tournament. It will cost you only your time to create an account on VUSports.com and submit a qualifying entry. Below are some details about the contest. This year I placed an online ad in The Villanovan to help increase applicants (http://www.villanovan.com/for-sale/...dent-Challenge---1st-Round-of-NCAA-Tournament). I know Eric has also send out a tweet a week or so ago from the VUSports.com account to promote the contest. Please feel free to share with any current Villanova students.

RULES OF THE ROAD:

Requirement of all eligible applicants:
Must be a current Villanova undergrad student. Villanova Graduate school or law school students are not eligible for this contest.

Responsibility of winner:
1) Winner will post a road trip summary to the VU Sports message board by COB on Monday 3/21 to share with all members of the board.

2) Summary should include details about your game experience and people you met along the way. We want members of the VU sports community to hear about your weekend adventure. The last 2 winners have established a new standard for the road trip summary. Both contained a level of detail and provided great photos that allow the members of the VU sports board who can not travel to the game what it was like.

The 2014 winner (Meg Collins) set the bar high with a wonderful daily blog post with photos. http://megc921.blogspot.com/2014/03/vu-student-challenge-recap.html

The 2015 winner (Nick Berger) continued this tradition and posted this road trip summary:
http://vusportsstudentcompetition2015.weebly.com/
