The other candidates, in my opinion, are last season's home win over Creighton and last season's road win over Xavier. The problem is those victories came late in what was essentially a lost season at that point. Thursday's win, on the other hand, is an early-season statement win over a blue blood opponent on a neutral court that has significant impacts on the narrative around the program and the team's resume for the season. So, yes, I think this is the best win of the young Kyle Neptune Era.

What did you like most about the win? Any concerns? Is this the biggest win of the Kyle Neptune era?

It was a good start in the Bahamas for Villanova, who pulled away from Texas Tech for an 85-69 win. It was perhaps Villanova's most complete game of the season.


What did you find most encouraging about the game? Was there anything that concerned you?

After some trepidation, Villanova's 2024 recruiting class rounded into form quickly and nicely. Now, attention turns to 2025, where Nova has a plethora of offers out. With 2024 class being comprised of three wings/forwards, the focus of 2025 will likely be on the backcourt and big men. The Wildcats were recently highlighted as a team to watch for one key 2025 guard.


How would you like to see the 2025 class shake out positionally? Any particular skill or role you hope the Cats can fill in the class? How are you feeling about the state of Nova recruiting overall?

The Cats bounced back from Monday's disappointing loss to Penn with a wire-to-wire win over Maryland. Nova answered a lot of the concerns that were raised in the Penn game, but the performance wasn't flawless. Did the second-half offensive woes rain on your parade, or was the dominant first half and 17-point win all you care about?

Villanova has gotten to work on the 2026 class, getting an offer out to SF Julius Avent. The 6-7 forward plays at Bergen Catholic in New Jersey and is currently ranked No. 55 in the early class of 2026 rankings.
