Villanova vs. Oklahoma at the Pavilion. This was really the first big test for the 4-guard lineup. We had used it with some success in the UNC game the previous March, but we had not planned to make it our staple lineup until Sumpter got hurt in pre-season practices. No one knew if it would work against serious competition, and Oklahoma was big and good. We took it to them and won going away. Randy Foye established himself as one of the best players in the country.



Also, my son was born. I had been telling my wife for months that this was the one day that the baby could not arrive. She and he were just as obedient on that day as they have been ever since. All worked out fine, though. I watched the game on DVR in state of sleep-deprived delirium, about 4 hours after the fact.

Hard to believe it was 10 years ago.
