Those 85 ships Temple, UCONN and the rest of the AAC possess would wear down VU and its 60 ships (in August) which are down to about 50 healthy ships in November. Given an equal number of athletes, I think VU would do reasonably well in AAC.

I agree - plus the jump up in competition, exposure, etc would naturally increase the quality of recruits across the board. Instead of attracting primarily lower level talent, it would attract more talented kids commensurate with a higher level program.
