I was just reading the thread on Alex Reber. Nice times. VU may have something. One of the posts said it would be nice to have a competitive 4x400. Totally agree. Remember they are also getting another 400 guy who recently ran 48.3. I started thinking about the class of 2013 and Steve Gayle (NY) who goes to Mount Vernon HS. Thought maybe it was the Mighty Burner's high school. Great story line beginning: "VU recruits 400m star from former Olympian's high school ..." James went to White Plains. Close. Nevertheless did a Google and discovered the following article in S.I. that I thought some might find interesting.

That article sent chills up and down my spine. I was a very good golfer at one time, and I was a successful high school basketball coach. And I scouted some hoops for some major colleges many years ago. I saw White plains with Larry James and Otis Hill run about 3:13 on cinders at Cornell in the New York State High School Championships. I saw Larry run that anchor at Penn; he was a great person; he left us much too soon.

Whitecat, do you remember the Bartram kid who was all public in FB, BB and Track who went to Cornell. I think he did something in the Olympics too. Bo Robertson?

He was around Chamberlain's year along with a string of a number of other Catholic and Public League standouts.
