Anyone want to TQ tomorrow?

I want to go to Japan, but am probably too poor to do it right.

That entire country seems batsh_t crazy. Would be gr8 to go all in, but you need time, money, and probably some local connections to get to the "real" crazy.

Edit: subscribed, will like it/read it
Don't say you are poor, say you are from the CoP.

I kinda want to see how backwards things are, ie: get girls underpants out of vending machines, watch women be super submissive.

Favorite restaurant in Philly? I'm not huge in the restaurant scene -- a pretty simple guy who makes most of his own food. Butcher & Singer is the best steak I've had -- possibly anywhere. Vetri's good, IHOP on Walnut is solid.
Favorite BYO in Philly? La Viola, either one.
Favorite place to grab a drink in Philly? Close call between Drinkers/McGillans/Irish Pub. -- But actually I like Oscar's to pretend I'm more blue collar than I am.
Favorite sandwich in Philly (as in which hoagie/sandwich shop)? Rib Stand in Reading Terminal. I don't go there that often, but it's so much better than overrated spots like Dinics/Jims/Pats/Ginos. Old Nelson has some great options.
Septa - Have you ever taken the El? A bus? Subway besides going to sporting event? I think when I was at 'Nova we had to take El Shuttle a few times. I took a city bus twice in my life: to go get my LASIK in south jersey because the bus dropped off right near where I was having my procedure. And second time was to visit a friend who lived on city ave as she attended PCOM. I feel like I road a subway to west philly for a fare on a date once because the girl said it was faster than a cab.

Favorite Simpsons episode?
Which generation of Porsche 911 would you purchase if money was no object and you had to keep it as your only car forever?

The best simpsons episode was the school strike episode

Hey Fred, what the hell are you doing with my money at your house

What do you do for a living? - Telemarketing. On good days I make about 125-150 calls.
Biggest regret so far? - Most of the times when I regret something, I reflect few years down the road and I'm pretty happy I made that decision (ex-girlfriends, etc..). I'd say my biggest regret was not spending more time with my dad when I was a kid. I usually just did my own thing instead of just talking to him (probably because I didn't want to hear the same old stories over and over).

Favorite Simpsons episode? Hard to remember them since I haven't watched the show in about 12 years. I guess I liked the one about Australia and the water going the other way. I took great ideas in physics @nova, the first thing the professor said was, "If you're gonna learn anything in this class -- you'll learn that the Simpsons episode about the Coriolis effect is wrong.
Which generation of Porsche 911 would you purchase if money was no object and you had to keep it as your only car forever? I couldn't care less about cars. I've probably driven a total of 50x over the last 9 years. I know it's probably inevitable, but I love not having a car. I can't drive stick so I assume I would crash a porsche.

What's the weirdest thing about your gf that is solely due to her foreign roots?

How many times have you hit the steam room with Ed Rendell this month?

Of the 150 calls you make a day, how many are complete failures?
Are you swindling old people?

What's the weirdest thing about your gf that is solely due to her foreign roots? Once every day or two she'll just use words I've never heard of. Pong (Smelly) when referring to my boat shoes. Budgy Smugglers (speedo). Just stuff like that. It's not like she's from Iran -- things are pretty much the same over there.

How many times have you hit the steam room with Ed Rendell this month? With Ed? Probably 1 (haven't really seen him lately). Regular month, sauna 20x steam 20x with the regulars.

Of the 150 calls you make a day, how many are complete failures? Most. Not allowed to bang the phone or swear anymore, sucks.

Are you swindling old people?
Nah, it's antitrust-related. Most people I speak with are CFOs/GC/Owners/

You complained about your dad sharing the same stories over and over.

Now that you are getting older, do you share the same stories?

Do you watch Workaholics? One of the better shows on TV. I prefer South Park, but I wish Workaholics was on more. It's not really available on demand either. I like the "Miss BS" episode with the guys scamming.

You complained about your dad sharing the same stories over and over. Now that you are getting older, do you share the same stories? I actively try not to. I often ask people if I've told them before I even start a story because I'd prefer not to put people through that. Being on the receiving end of a story, which usually has one small aspect of it changed, is annoying.

How is the real life world of telemarketing different from workaholics? Depends on if you're doing B2B or B2C telemarketing. B2C is pretty low-level talent and for the most part they are not college educated. Takes significantly more talent to call business owners/counsel/executives at large corporations. It's a lot harder to get the right person on the phone when calling businesses (obviously consumers it's their direct line). Need to be able to think on your feet and at least sound like you know wtf you're talking about.
