BE Championship

I knew the men were favored but I though Gtn,Prov would be a bit stronger. Emily came close. Overall the Conf. lost quality depth of nd, Sy,Cn, so it's turned into more of a tri-meet.

Angel P. ?

No. My guess is they are planning everything for the regional. The BE- which they couldn't have won- likely wasn't a priority on the women's side. Which was why I mentioned the pre-Nat trip a few weeks ago and going back to the MW (for BE) may not have been something everybody would do? Was the #180 at Pre-nat a bad day or something else?

Patrick Tiernan became the eighth conference champion in Wildcat history, covering the 8,000-meter Wayne E. Dannehl course in Kenosha, Wisc., in 23 minutes, 51 seconds for a 12-second margin over the field in pacing the Wildcats to a 13-point win.

Nice interview with Patrick Tiernan over at Villanova Running. Comes across as a really good guy - sort of reflects what O'Sullivan is all about. A point he made that I found interesting: having others from Australia already on the team made the transition easier. That would suggest that in recruiting, VU should be conscious of this - i.e., keep the flow going - if possible.

Another thought on Tiernan: He has run 3:49.67 (1500), which converts to 4:07.97 mile. Is it realistic to think that he may run a leg on 4xmile at some point? He is definitely not an option in 2014 or even 2015, but 2016 or 2017?
