Let's see if Marcus can stay hot.

Cool ... very cool.

This is a great sign. Congrats to Marcus as well as Ben Malone for his perspicacity. Future 4x800s look great.

Questions: Will this commitment attract other outstanding scholar-athletes to VU? Wonder if the presence of McEntee, Williamsz, Fitzsimons, Denault and tremendous growth of Ellison had anything to do with Malone's decision?

Marcus has put together an outstanding middle distance squad. Just need an outstanding 400 man for a dominating DMR.

Stud HS 800M guys usually make very good college milers. Guys tend to move up in distance as they get older and stronger. by his mid 20s, this kid could be a 5K guy,

You guys are right about Malone and the mile. I still want to see what he will do as a senior. Has a 49.03 (400) so there may be some future as an outstanding 800 man, but I believe he will have a chance at NCAAs in mile. Ran 4:07, last year and also finished third at Penn Relays in mile (4:12).

The good news is that his hamstring is no longer bothering him. The bad news is that he's sick and won't be able to race at the Bergen Meet of Champions.

From this weeks SI - New Jersey record in the 1500 3:46.97, old record stood for 36 years. As a junior ran indoor 800 at 1:49.94 and 1000 at 2:23.56 both No. 2 on the alltime high school list.
