also hard to tell how many of his athletes were actually students given the institutionalized fake classes at Chapel Hill.

he was certainly quite the gentleman and built a dynasty - not many programs have brought in as much talent.

Somehow our high school basketball coach in our little
town of 8,000 ran a BB camp for two years. Don't ask me how,
but he brought some big names up here. Coach Smith was one of them
along with players as Larry Brown, Doug Moe, Sam Jones, Wayne Embry, and a score of others.
Coach Smith was nothing but a great clinician and a very nice person.
