Flopping

Not sure if anyone saw the absolutely EGREGIOUS flop that Harden tried to pull on Lebron in the game over the weekend but he just got suspended a game for it. So happy that this happened and it needs to happen even more. It was actually the worst attempt at flopping I've ever seen because he was latching onto Lebron and trying to make it look like Lebron was dragging him somehow even though Harden was the only one doing anything. Not only did he try to get the call but he blatantly traveled which the refs didn't call because they seemed to be in shock at what was going on, but he also got the shot clock violation to boot. Pissed they won because even though I enjoy a good Lebron choke from the foul line, Harden pulled the ultimate bush league play.

I don't feel like rewriting this whole thing but just read that he got suspended for the kick to the nuts, not the flop attempt. Very saddened by that and he absolutely should have been suspended for the move he tried to pull.

Something needs to be done. Small fines are not enough. I know it can be tough to review during a game, but they need a good review process post game. First offense warning, second offense 1 game suspension (with or w/o pay?), 3 offense 3 games. Something along those lines in both college and NBA.

how about just respect for the game? i dont get the flopping, its not in the spirit of the game. id rather lose straight up then flop and win.

Flopping gets foul calls, and it helps your team win. These guys are doing anything they can to gain an advantage. Until flopping doesn't get you an advantage, it's going to happen. You need to call guys out for doing it.

Flop once, personal foul (this way a missed call isn't that big of a deal)
Flop twice, tech
Flop a third time, ejection

I agree about respect for the game. Old time players must laugh at these kids. It has become part of the game, I don't see it just changing out of respect. Especially when the worlds best players are some of the main offenders. Its pathetic that these human specimens in ridiculous shape with ridiculous strength act like that.

While I realize that flopping is huge in soccer, the referees actually have the ability to give a yellow card to the flopper. In tournament setting, two yellow's in a tournament equal sitting out the next game, which is huge.

What should happen is that the refs should give the ability to give a technical foul for a flop. Then what should happen is that you get X amount of technical fouls in a playoff series, you should miss a game. (like 3) I believe there is some level, but I believe it's like 7 tech's for a playoff series. Rasheed Wallace would have trouble hitting that number.
