How can this be possible? 4 - 5 schools for liberal artists in the top 10! (I'm mocking JMerc of course)

The rankings are always pretty bad. It is college from a cheap/poor person's perspective. I focuses on outlay and return on investment from what I remember. Still 72nd is pretty good.

Also, there is no way I would put Carnegie Mellon behind Bucknell or Lafayette. Lafayette is a good school but would be behind Lehigh and Villanova by most measures. Franklin and Marshall obviously is overrated here.

Who really cares about these rankings except prospective students and insecure losers who base their worth on where they did their undergrad work 20 years ago?

Pomona #1?

I forgot you were a fake Penn grad.

Generally, I agree with you that it is meaningless to a grad once you are in the workforce. Your alma mater having a good reputation can help open doors when you are starting out. It is also very important for the University to have a decent ranking so students want to attend. I want to see Villanova succeed in every way, mostly just loyalty. I feel the same way about my high school just to a lesser extent.

i wouldnt want to attend Swarthmore or Haverford for free. some weirdos at those schools.

Agreed. One of the first schools we visited with my daughter was Williams. Great school, obviously and a beautiful campus, but we couldn't get out of there fast enough. Bunch of liberal freaks.

Also, Notre Dame is way too high at #10; and UVA way too low at 30 something.

I find Forbes irrelevant and unreliable so I'm, therefore, mostly indifferent. The methodology appears to favor smaller schools which is good in a way.
