GDog,

Please post your bets on the NHL Playoffs and the odds you received for each series.

Anaheim was the only sweep in the 1st round. They were the 1 seed going against the 7 seed (Winnipeg) in the conference. I suspect the odds were about 8:1 for a series sweep on that series.

Was +985.

All it takes is one. I wouldn't do it if 2 or more were required to make $.

Arak/Dmill....thoughts on the Kronwall suspension? I don't actually mind the suspension, but the inconsistency from the league office is frustrating.

Games have been called as bad as i can ever remember. I am all for letting them play, but that goes for skill players too. Islander series was just brutal - Caps got away with EVERYTHING and the Islanders a few things as well. The Pens were literally tackling guys trying to slow them down - and the hits from behind have been frequent.

As far as Kronwall - I dont think he has ever been suspended but that's not the first time he's issued a very questionable hit. I really dislike the way he turns his back and leads with the elbow - but he's done that before. In the end, he left his feet and went VERY high. You cant leave your feet. He was suspended, yet there was NO CALL on the ice - and it's not like they didn't see it. Both refs were looking at it. Said this before but I don't get why no one is content to hit low and clean anymore. Everyone going for the Lindros hit it seems. Kronwall could have LOWERED his shoulder and probably walked away with the puck, which, you know, is kinda the point of it.

Could not agree more though - league has been inconsistent and negligent. There has been a good amount of talk these last few days about how bad this round has been officiated - so hoping they clean it up moving forward.

The Subban slash gets nothing? Probably because the head wasn't involved.

How is this not a penalty? I'm all for letting them play but Ovie should have sat for this one

To be honest with you, I have watched 0 of the NHL playoffs so far. I am keeping up with the scores/news but I didn't really see the hit in question. I have been all in on the NBA playoffs instead this year.

Joel Ward high sticks the defenseman - Boychuck i think - across the NECK three seconds before he scores in game 7. It's a penalty called 10 times out of 10 in the regular season. Not that night.

Ovechkin had 2-3 different hits in that series that not only should have been a penalty but probably at least 1 game.

Thoughts on Backstrom's hit that lead to the goal?

Brutal loss. Hit was a penalty but as already mentioned here they ain't calling that stuff right now, and I counted 4 egregious break downs separate from that. Five if you include the coaching decision to even have Boyle on the ice in that situation ( or the AO8 PP goal in the second for that matter). Can't happen this time of year. It ain't January.

Looks like another sweep. Or 2. Or 3 - could be in the cards. One works.

A useless factoid for you, Ray Shero and I were teammates in Little League baseball.
