Anyone going out in costume?

It's always an annoying big deal in NYC- and I usually avoid it - but I am getting roped in this year.

Going as Hunter S. Thompson.

Better or worse than NYE or St Patty's day?
If either Halloween or St Patty's day fall on a weekend they are both worse than NYE. NYE may be worse when the two fall on weekdays. Between Halloween and St Patty's day on a weekend its a tight race... I honestly think Halloween might be worse.

I haven't been in NYC for NYE in a long time... but always felt like NYE had way more people with a not so terrible ratio of annoying drunks to people. One year we did a dinner then drinks in tribeca with a decent sized group and it didn't feel all that different than a busy saturday. Halloween on the other hand has amazingly high ratio of terrible drunks and they seem impossible to avoid.

Yes, you get a lot of trickle from there that say f*ck it. Also, every bar is basically an open bar with a bunch of amateurs who never drink.
ah yes for that sort of scene in terms of bars there is way more of that open bar stuff nye

getting a table and bottle service at a hotel party with my bro crew. sounded fun, figure what the hell, then i saw that one of the 3 bottle options is "hennessey." immediately dug up a video recap of prior year's event. gonna be daaaaaaaaaaaark and storm up in this bitch.

Generally on NYE and Halloween a lot of the bars host "parties" with a terrible DJ for a high cover charge that attract large numbers of unbelievably douchey B&T people.

NYE is nearly impossible to avoid if you are going out. Every bar is running some deal. Its always a good excuse to get out of town, ideally hitting the slopes.

Halloween you can easily avoid.

Plenty of fun to be had on St Patricks while still avoiding the mob.

New years eve is a gr8 opportunity to hang out with close friends and get sloppily drunk. Do people honestly try to have a civil business like meal out on the town? Without even pushing the limit a little bit? Just stay home and angrily shake your fist at the TV instead.

I had people dress up in my office today. Who does that?

Me too. I have little kids. I can't just go get bombed and function with them around the next day. Especially at my age (66 years old). But I can't hate on those that enjoy themselves. Have a few stiff drinks and some laughs. whatever you do, don't go to bed early so that you can make it to the Mummer's parade on time.

NYE, we go to my buddy's in western, pa have am amazing dinner, do a fake ball drop for the kids and proceed to get drunk after putting all the kids to bed. Can't beat it. Why anyone over the age of 27 would go out is beyond me.

Halloween used to be great because women use it as an excuse to dress like whores. I support that effort and ask you purchase all of your goods at party city. Especially those in PA.

I'm big on the two candy selection. The good stuff for the neighborhood kids with the actual costumes. The 5 cent gum for the democrats that get bussed in not even wearing costumes.

I went out as Aaron Rodgers in the CoDB and it might have been the best decision I have ever made in my life. Everyone has always said I look like him so I went with it this year and ordered a jersey off ebay. Got yellow football pants (exact same color as Packers sans the stripe) online, a Packers knit hat, and a Packers fanny pack (to carry around phone and wallet - looked into hand warmer but was afraid I'd drop my stuff). It was amazing, I have never had so many random people come up to me in my life. People kept taking pictures with me or asking me to do the discount double check. I felt like a rock star. I have found my costume for as long as Aaron Rodgers is relevant.

Has a CoP angel been granted his wings? All this talk of life in the CoDB. Somewhere west of Philly a man is about to downgrade someone's fandom.

Haha - went up for the weekend with some friends. CoDB is far superior to CoP in just about every way. Plain and simple - it's just a more fun city.

Will the Packers fanny pack become a staple in your everyday life?
No it's actually way too small. I was only able to fit my phone, pax, and wallet in it but barely. I was thinking of maybe using it for runs to store keys etc but it might just get annoying. It was only $11 so no big deal if I never use it again.

need to try this out in GB. Bet you can find a few stupid cheese head slobs to believe you are really him and trick them into at least a BJ.
