Happening Now at VU

Looks like a rowdy group.

If they sit down, this might happen:

I was surprised by the numbers in Father Peters email about how many universities have armed officers. Guess that's how you get a national ranking in US News

The idea of them having guns is scary. The idea of any American having guns is scary

All lined up and ready to go, when do they hand out the blindfolds to this crew?

They are going to hire and train real police officers. My understanding is that the existing Campus Security "officers" or whatever they are called will not simply be handed weapons.

I don't understand how people are afraid of trained law enforcement having weapons but aren't concerned about mentally ill homicidal maniacs having weapons.

Wow. A whole 10 people. Real grassroots effort there.

They clearly didn't take a page from RPfR's playbook and robo call everyone.

what's scary is people can read that release from Fr Peter and think they're just going to hand guns to the Public Safety officers.

I'm a whiny milennial hipster and even I look at these kids like idiots. If you're pro-gun control, you should promote properly trained people having guns. Sets a good standard for what ownership should be about.

I don't understand the point of it other than as "mass shooting insurance". Not sure it's worth the cost ($ and potential police f*ck ups).

Seems like the current system is fair enough. Rent a cops on patrol and they call the real cops if things get out of hand. And the real cops are there instantly because they have nothing better to do in their wealthy crimeless township.

I'm not against this necessarily. I just hope it's not the same officers that are just getting training. It only ends up being a few officers so it probably won't make a difference

The mealy mouthed entitled "protesters" were interviewed on news. Redefines the word pussy. Some quotes were along the lines of "people with guns don't embody our values as a school" and "we as students should get a vote on this"

This is exhibit A as to why people young college kids.

Protestors should watch PCU movie (1994?) to clue them in on their foolishness.

I really don't get this "we don't want guns on campus" thing. If something serious happened, would they not want Radnor cops to respond because they carry guns? So what is their gripe then? Authority figures carrying guns? Do they shop in malls? Take public transit? Pretty sure private security in some stores and transit police carry guns. These kids really are the epitome of spoiled pampered shitheads.

I take zero issue with creating a police force. Unfortunately, it is necessary in today's world.

I suppose they could put a Radnor PD substation on campus as an alternative and just pay for an additional Radnor officer or two.

I don't see why anyone has an issue with this unless you are anti gun across the board.
