At the end of every spring season, Wildcat coaches name a Most Improved Player for both O and D. Soph RB Matt Gudzak from Toms River, NJ and Toms River East High and Michael Williams from Woodland, Md and Archbishop Spalding are this year's winners. Nova fans might remember Gudzak as a kickoff returner as well as a promising RB. Williams saw limited time last season as a redshirt frosh. I think Williams had an offer from Maryland, but they wanted him as an O lineman . He wanted to play D. So he came to VU. Both are expected to see significant PT this season. Gudzak is 5 9 195 Williams 6 4 280

I know that Gudzak is expected to become a significant contributor in the backfield this upcoming season.

Ed we are usually pretty solid in the kick game, last yr was unusually bad . we'll probably be ok, just thought they would put a special emphasis on it. Tom

Tom The season before last Cats' kicking game was super. A senior Hamilton had that aspect of the team under control for a few years. He graduated and the kickers thought to be his replacements last season did get the job done. Maybe this season they will.
