Dude, let it go. It's a hunch. Sometimes in baseball teams play better than projected. It happens every year. I think the pitching could be solid and keep them in games. No one is talking monumental stuff here. I said over, 72-76, so it's still a losing/bad year.
Whoa whoa whoa - no need to get testy. I thought it was a fair question. He was the team's leader, his defense was as you sai under rated, you have argued for his HoF consideration. I was just curious to see how you thought losing him and adding nothing was going to get them more wins. Again, I thought it was a fair question.
And I answered it by saying that baseball is a funny (goofy) game sometimes. Again, not predicting anything outrageous. I think the pitching can be decent and might lead to a better-than-expected first half. Eventually, guys like Hamels, Lee, Paplebon might get moved and it will be hard for them to maintain. It happens every year in this game. A few teams surprise for a little while and then reality sets in and they fall back. I could see that happening with this team, thus eclipsing the 68.5 barrier.
Rollins had a HOF-conversation career to date. However, at 36ish what he has done over his entire career doesn;t necessarily project in a single year at this point. Surely, you can understand the difference.
Oh yea, call me when the Mets ever have a SS as good as Rollins was/is.
