Who you got?

My guess is they promote Macadoo even though he is not ready.

I dont get how Mara lets go off Coughlin and keeps Reese. Doesnt make sense to me. Reese has been down right awful the last few years.

One of the strangest coaching tenures I can ever remember in any sport, any era.

Guy misses the playoffs in 7 out of 12 years. In 2 of the 5 years he made the playoffs, the team crashes and burns badly in the WC game to a division rival. Basically, 9 out of his 12 years were miserable, rotten to the core.

Yet somewhere in there, he beats the Pats in the SB twice.

Bobby Valentine has 1 bad year with the Red Sox and gets fired.

Reese stay on is a joke. Outside of beckham he has missed badly on every draft. There defensive talent was so bad that a one armed line man stood out as their best player.

Giants are a catastrophe right now. ODB fell into their laps. The rest of that team stinks.

Mara stands up there and basically blames their issues on Reese and the personnel Coughlin had for the last few season, but he's the one shown the door. Only 2 of Reese's draft picks have made a second contract with the Giants, Will Beatty and Kiwanuka.

I think they're going to make a move for Sean Payton

Why would Payton come to NY? They stink and have a long way to go. If could stay in New Orleans if he wants to try and win with an old QB and not much else. Dallas or San Fran make a lot more sense. The Giant job is not as appealing as others out there. It will be interesting to see who they end up hiring.

He also took an expasion team to the playoffs for four straight years in his 2nd season with the Jags, including a 14-2 2000 season.

Thought Richburg, Pugh and Flowers were good picks by Reese. Collins is going to be a good safety, Hankins is a good run stopper and Kennard when healthy is also a solid LB. Reese has not done well in the later rounds of the draft, really besides Beckham and Nicks his WRs have been terrible, Randle is awful, Barden was real bad, Jerrigan bad. On defense he cant seem to draft a good cornerback, most years he completely ignores the LB position and has really flopped on the DE position outside of JPP in the last few years.

The offense needs a solid reliable TE, a good second option at WR, and one or two more solid linemen. Defensively this team needs alot, first and foremost it needs a leader. No accountability on Defense, guys pointing fingers, it was terrible.

Reese and the Giants are terrible in Free Agency in my opinion. I can count the impact free agents they have had over the years on one hand. Its scary how bad his choices could be with the 50 million they have lieing around this year.

Reese tends to reach on players, draft guys from schools that I didnt realize had a football team, and sometimes take risks. I think that is his main issue. Draft Alabama, LSU, etc. These schools create pros, not Misouri Valley State Tech.

I agree with Dallas but why San Fran? They are on of the bigger disasters in the NFL not named Cleveland. No Qb, poor defense, and no offensive weapons. That team is a complete rebuild. They also play in a division with Seattle and the Cardinals who will continue to dominate for the next few seasons. There's a reason why you see guys like Shanahan and Chip tagged to that job, they know they have a few years to try to turn it around.

NY has a QB with about 3-4 years left of high level play (as high as you can get with Eli), solid ownership, and compete in a weak division.

For Payton its Dallas, Giants, Saints, and then all the other slop

San Fran has over $50 Mil in cap space, 12 draft picks and a front office that has done well managing the cap and accumulating picks, identifying talent. Contrast that to the Giants with holes everywhere, no defense, not a ton of room to make moves and a horrific front office. San Fran you'll get a nice 5 year deal, patience and lots of room to craft a team in your liking. Payton would be ideal in that spot, much better than the Giants situation. That should be one of the more attractive jobs for those reasons.

Absolutely. However, that's a great opportunity. The Niners won 5 games and Giants won 7. The Niners have lots of flexibility and assets to get better. If you're a proven coach with a long term deal it's a nice spot considering what's out there. It's not as if the Steelers, Patriots and Panthers are looking for coaches. These jobs are available because the teams didn't perform, lack talent or both.

Giants typically give their coaches a lot of time too.

Some Giants fan told me Cowher, which I spit out my coffee I wasn't drinking at that one.

I honestly don't think the Giants are THAT bad.

yes, they need an entire new LB corps and a CB or 2, but I don't think they're that bad.

The difference in Tom Coughlin's appearance between when he was hired and the present should be enough to fire him.

He was there 12 years, how have you aged in that same time frame?

did the Chip thread get deleted...?

anyways, apparently the Eagles and Dolphins both really want Adam Gase.

Giants have a ton of holes but they are still the Giants. That's a top 5 NFL job in any year

[QUOTE="but they are still the Giants. That's a top 5 NFL job in any year[/QUOTE]

No they're not. Their owner even came out this week and said they've lost credibility in the NFL.

Hey I didn't say it, the owner did. That guy looks like he's wound so tight he prob irons his boxer shorts.

Freddy if you don't think coaching the Giants isn't a top 5 job you are seriously jaded by hometown influence.
