I'm really looking forward to this draft on so many levels. Of course, this includes the BWs dynamic. Looking forward to ADP's spin on this one. Already started bagging the popcorn.
Fatcessa saying recently that he is hearing the Eagles have a very tangible route to Mariota @ #2. More than one source according to him. Had to do with the Bradford to CLE for 12, a possible trade with NYJ to 6 or straight from 12 to 2 for the #12, teh #20 and next year's number one.
Should that smoke clear, Chip Kelly would have a team with Mariota, Manziel and Tim Tebow. And ESPN's head would instantly explode. Seriously, I think they could have some kind of technical meltdown.

Totally agree. I am assuming the Giants play it safe and take Brandon Scherff. Can't imagine Amari Cooper sitting there at 9, but they can't pass on him if he is. Scherff will be solid I think. BTW - just read that Kiper and McShay didn't have Vic Beasley in their last first round mock? The guy is probably going top 6 or 7.
If the Eagles trade Fletcher Cox and Mychal Kendricks (+ 2 #1's) for Mariota I will blow a damn gasket. The Eagles are finally starting to put together a good defense and they're gonna trade 2 of the best young defensive players in the entire league? NO! Trade those 2 guys and you're setting that D back another 3 seasons. In case you havent noticed, you need to play defense in this league. Why do you think the Seahawks have been so good? Why do you think New England finally won a super bowl after a decade of not being able to do so? This was New England's best D in 10 yrs. I know, I know, you need a good QB to win, but if you dont have a superstar QB you cant survive without a damn good defense.
Offense has not been the problem under Kelly. They score a gazillion points. They havent been able to stop anybody, and you dont fix that by trading your 2 best defenders. Adding Kiko Alonso and Byron Maxwell to what you have is a good start toward something very good. Keep adding to the damn secondary to complement what will be a tremendous front 7.

Is that the latest rumor? Not sure I can see that. Going to be a lot of crazy sh%t floated out there between now and Thursday. Anything involving Cox is dumb.
I expect the Titans to just take Mariota for themselves b/c you cant afford to pass on a top QB - especially in a year where its not a great draft class at the other positions. Tennessee cant seriously believe Mettenberger is the answer. That said I have my doubts whether or not the Titans would be able to utilize Mariota properly but thats another topic for debate. Whisenhunt prefers pocket passers. Mariota would seem to be a departure from what they like to do. Not sure Wiz is prepared to alter his entire offensive philosophy. Using Mariota in a traditional NFL offense would be a waste and more than likely not successful.

sad, really. all the talent in the world and no brain. thankfully, Miami only gave up an extra second to move up to take him and didn't mortgage the future.
Please be specific. This draft sucks up top. No great pass rusher, no great tackles, no great cover guys. This draft blows up top. You have Winston, who I think will be very good, a few WR's and what else?
the depth in this draft is amazing. just because there is no Andrew Luck/RGIII at the top or whatever doesn't mean anything.

Most people think this draft is going to produce a fair amount of very good players. I think Beasley will be an excellent edge guy, the two receivers at the top I think wil both be high end guys. I think Mariota is going to start in this league for 10 years, and so will Winston if he doesn't piss his career away somehow, and Williams is a stud. A lot of scouts as excited about rounds 3 and 4 as they are 1. Seems like there are a lot of guys will have careers here. Goofy sport as the the arguably best QB in history was taken in Rd 6.
There is nothing up top. It's a bunch of very good players, so benefits having extra picks. There are not a bunch of players worth moving up for in this draft, thus the trade market up top isn't there. That's not mis-informed even a little. This is not a top heavy draft, seems to value in the picks 15-40 range. You can throw the first 5-7 guys in a bucket. No great pass rushers, no stud defensive tackles, no stud corners; value down in the draft. Name the great players in this draft? Specifically, who are the 5-7 studs at the top of this draft? They don't exist relative to recent drafts.
theres no one worth trading up for because the depth at a lot of these positions is astounding.

Bill polian just said this draft ends at pick 8. Speaking of a potential browns trade, "at 12 you are getting a guy who is marginally a 1st rounder, at 19, you are getting 2nd round talent in most years". This is a sift draft.
there will be good players who will become long time starters being taken into the 4th round this weekend. just wait and see.
