moving the extra point back to the 15, making it a 32 yard field goal. 2 point conversion stays from the 2 yard line and the defense can score as well.

Last year kickers were about 94%+ from the 15, compared to 99%+ on PAT. That's a difference of 62 missed extra points, based the number of PAT attempts last year. I like it.
62? So between 3 and 4 a week? Gonna be some awfully horrible losses/fortunate wins on this. Will be especially painful in the playoffs. I would have preferred just having it be either go for 2, or take the 1 with no kick required. And maybe move the 2 point line of scrimmage to the 1 yard line to induce more attempts.
We will now get TD-commercial break-PAT-commercial break-Kickoff-commercial break-regular possession... Now you might actually have to stick around to watch the PAT instead of watching something else for 5 minutes. The automatic 1 point idea would never fly because you would lose a lot of commercial break time in going straight to the kickoff.

why change the game? whats wrong with the PAT? if its so automatic get rid of it all together and make a td worth 7. NFL aint broke so why fix it.
if anything make a change to the FG rules. cant kick a FG once the ball gets inside the 20 until less than 2mins in each half. you have to go for it on 4th down. make the game more interesting and get rid of some of the kicking.
They had to do something. Its a scoring play we all write off as automatic. Its a step in a direction to try to address an issue but by no means is this rule change complete. It'll be tweaked.
Teams inside the 20 on 3rd and long will run the ball backwards or take a delay of game penalty in order to set the ball on the 21 for a FG attempt.
Basically trying to make football more like futbol. And hockey. With goofy shit.
vu93 - once the ball gets to the 20 or inside you cannot kick a field goal even if you lose yards on the next 3 plays setting the ball outside the 20. i actually think getting rid of field goals all together would be good for the game
