I am on a 2 week vacation now in Italy with my family. This is something we are doing for my daughter as her graduation gift. Always good to be able to enjoy the gift you are providing....
Today, we took a boat trip from Positano to Capri for the day. There are 4 Italian family member and 8 other Americans of which about 4 are 2016 grads in the group.
As we pull out of the green grotto on Capri, there is a line of about 4 other boats who were waiting there turn. The first boat I see I flashed our blue "Villanova" flag to jazz them up. I got a very negative reaction from the Americans on the other vessel as they were Pitt/Penn fans. Also heard a "Philly sucks" from the boat.
On the next boat by total coincidence somebody on my boat saw a "Villanova" Jersey on a guy in the back of the boat. As I hold up our "Villanova" flag......I immediately got a great reaction from many on the boat. As we pass by the next boat waiting, all 5 Villanovans on our boat were screaming "V for Villanova" and there were 12 young ladies in the next boat..... ALL VILLANOVANS..... They held up their "V's" as we showed them the flag as sang the fight song!!!
VILLANOVANS are everywhere!!!!!
Explaining what has happened to "Villanova" during the NCAA tourney to my Italian relatives has been a challenge but they are all now proudly wearing the National Championship shirts I brought over for them. We have showed them game tape from the NC game and they love it.
I have distributed about 30 shirts so far on this trip and have 8 left for relatives in Milan that we will see on Saturday.
