OT: Vacation in Turkey

I'll be traveling to Turkey with the wifey for a week later this summer, spending a few days in Istanbul and a few days in Cappadocia.

Besides staying clear of ISIS, I'd appreciate any insights or recommendations on things to do, places to see, (or places to avoid), etc. while there, from others that have visited the country.
