Question for Eberzz and others re Governor's Ball

Govs ball question: Was offered a ticket for friday, but will only be able to make the MMJ performance on friday. Is it worth going just for them? Never seen them live before and heard they are incredible (think i just answered my question).

Yes MMJ is a flat out amazing live band....for my money, the best around the last couple years. Somewhat unhappy that the only area performance we get is in the festival setting but they will not disappoint.

I'm heading over Friday as well... Hopefully in time to catch Benjamin Booker if I can swing it with work. Solid lineup friday with some acts I haven't seen and wouldn't necessarily seek out on their own but excited to catch

Agree with bgranc. One of the best live bands I've seen, easily in my top 5, I try to catch them whenever they come to the area. I've seen them at a couple festivals as well and it's been a really good experience. I'll be there Friday as well, kickoff to my brother's bachelor party so we'll have a good crew going over.

Bri, I'm hoping to get to the Benjamin Booker set as well, he's great.

Who is MMJ? I'm sure it's obvious but i"m drawing a blank.

Nice.. I'll look for you at Booker

A couple of comments......had to google "Governor's Ball".........thought it took place in January in Harrisburg. Now embarrassed. But, enjoyed all the points made.....but, one thought I think that is missed......every girl is different & every boy is different.......meaning different girls or boys will react differently to all situations. Most parents think they know how their kids will react in all situations....but, this is not 100% true.

Ended up being able to head to gov's ball a little earlier than originally planned. Caught florence and the machine. Wow, she has a powerful voice live. Great performance. Walked over to St Vincent afterward for a pretty good performance. And then finished it up with MMJ. Wow, they blew me away. Great set, and the guy i went with said this wasnt even as good as some of their other performances. Finishing up with One Big holiday was absolutley perfect. Really want to see them again

we need a report from the original poster on the weekend road trip.

Glad you caught MMJ! Incredible live band, simply one of the best around. I thought their set was awesome, they played my favorite song "Steam Engine" which was epic. I had a lot of fun at the festival, we had a group of ten and ended up getting into the VIP area for the Decemberists and MMJ which was pretty clutch. Nice to have access to the bar, bathrooms and some food and still be about 15' from the stage. Great day.
