to NCAA 1500M finals. Both finished 4th in their heat (top 5 from each heat and next 2 fastest times adv.). Gibney looked good, big fall in his heat w/ 400M left took a few guys out of it.

I couldn't tell if Reid was just laying back to save it for the finals or if she was having problems??? She sat at the back of the pack until 600M and then passed 8 women in 200M to get up front. Sat there the rest of the way and let 3 take off in last 200M and didn't go with them. Either a very smart strategy to save it, or she didn't quite have the snap in her lags today. I am going to be an optimistic and say she was saving it for sat.

Bottorff from Duke, orig. from Delaware, won the women's 10K last night. She would have looked really good in a Nova uni. Too bad we didn't get her.

Penn State's Ryan Foster was DQ'd for causing the crash and the two victimes were advanced to the final.

Shericka Ward fails to advance

She was 5th in heat #3 and failed to advance (it's top 2 from each of 3 heats, plus the next 2 fastest times = 8 finalists).

Gibney is listed as junior eligibile on the outdoor roster and Mildenhall as a soph. If you add McEntee, Degnault, and Fitzsimmons, that is a very good group of milers. It could be an interesting Penn Relays next spring.
