'06, '07, '10 he had an OPS of .800+ vs. lefties. I'm not sure I've ever seen him make contact against a lefty reliever though.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the first time that fancy sabermetrics like splits were allowed in the Phillies clubhouse.

I still can't figure out the timing of Rueben's dismissal. Did they leave him twisting in the wind, just because? Or did they finally grow weary of seeing him around the office?

I am also shocked that he wasn't retained and given a meaningless ceremonial title (see Wheeler, Christopher aka "No Doubles Defense")

Probably some legal clause that wouldn't let them axe him early. Maybe he had some buyout or severance clause.

Wheeler, while awful, did not make actual decisions.
