Doesn't windows/Linux make the world run? Or is Apple used for stuff other than liberal artistry?
I'm not here to provide tech savvy info to an old man like you, ND.Doesn't windows/Linux make the world run? Or is Apple used for stuff other than liberal artistry?
I may be 64 years young, but I know that macs are for scrap booking.I'm not here to provide tech savvy info to an old man like you, ND.
It's mid 2014, HCTC, so it meets the criteria. I also have the latest version of Yosemite so there should not be any problem. I'm a big fan of Apple and it's very surprising to me that this OS release has so many problems. There are a lot of sites popping up about the problems. It really is reminiscent of the typical Windows nonsense.
Eric, there are a bunch of really good new features in El Capitan that I would use. There are also significant speed enhancements to make working with large files like movies a lot easier. iCloud has also been upgraded to improve file integration across all my Apple devices. It really is unusual for Apple to put out an OS with so many problems.why would you need a new OS on a one year old MacBook ... are you updating it out of boredom or necessity?
Let's be serious here. We are trying to help you. We can't assess whether you actually need El Capitan unless you describe your computing needs? Is it old home movies, sports highlights, Thai ladybois?[/QUOTE

Computer stuff.......you can stop fishing now, ND.What do you use your computer for?
Very guarded responses... do we really want to know?Computer stuff.......you can stop fishing now, ND.

It's not the content that I desire, it's the intellectual honesty.Very guarded responses... do we really want to know?
You'll be waiting a very long time, I'm afraid. It's not the content that I desire, it's the intellectual honesty.
Well, it depends. You'll be waiting a very long time, I'm afraid.
"Intellectual honesty?" That's really funny coming from a pseudo 63 year old man!!!Well, it depends.
Dimers, I think tjc is on to your "alt" age."Intellectual honesty?" That's really funny coming from a pseudo 63 year old man!!!
I never claimed to be a pseudo 63 year old man."Intellectual honesty?" That's really funny coming from a pseudo 63 year old man!!!
Not on to anything. ND and I used to have some interesting political discussions before BW. He wasn't even married then so, unless he has some disease that causes rapid aging, he's in his 30's and the old man stuff is just part of his new confrontational personna.Dimers, I think tjc is on to your "alt" age.
Age is subjective. Like gender.
This trans-age hate speech will not be tolerated here. For as long as I can remember, I've always felt like a bitter old bastard. Only in recent years have I been comfortable sharing it with the world.
The real NDJust got a bunch of liver spots tattooed on me today. Horsehoe pattern baldness haircut scheduled for monday. The transformation is almost complete.
No idea nycat04. I haven't gone back to the forum since I got their email and subsequently decided not to upgrade to El Capitan until version 10.11.1 is released.Hey TJC - according to the link you provided you're still a member of the apple forums - any idea how you were kicked off the apple discussion forums but remain a member of the apple forum?
Thanks in advance.
More tall tales and semantics games. What a surprise. No idea nycat04. I haven't gone back to the forum since I got their email and subsequently decided not to upgrade to El Capitan until version 10.11.1 is released.

Don't worry, he'll find a way. He will say that he never said that he was actually kicked off. It's actually not semantics this time - it's just wrong. The title of the thread is "so, i was kicked off the apple discussion forums" but in fact - he remains a member of the apple discussion forums. Pretty hard to play semantics on that.
You are aware, aren't you nycat04, that there are probably 100's of Apple user forums? When Eric bans someone, does he go back and delete all of their posts? I will grant you that the thread title should have said " El Capitan forum" not forums. It's actually not semantics this time - it's just wrong. The title of the thread is "so, i was kicked off the apple discussion forums" but in fact - he remains a member of the apple discussion forums. Pretty hard to play semantics on that.
