Terry's Terrors Within 1 Game of First

It would really be something if the Nats' fail to make playoffs. I really don't see two teams from NL East getting in.

Nardi's back to trolling on the NL East again. Never understood this one. What is the significance of always putting down a division? Weird.

It's like fans of SEC teams chanting SEC! after Alabama or Florida wins a national title in football

I flicked on the game for a brief time last night. Upon doing so I said to myself. Man, CoDBers really should keep their comments about CoP fans to themselves. The placeless filled with greasy derelicts..

Nardi, could you kindly breakdown this element that exists up in Queens?

Oh yea, those Nats are something else. The poster boys of gutless. Good to see that stopper JZ take care of that 5th tier line-up when his team needed a win in the worst way.

Citi was jumping. Give credit where it's due, Mets played great ball. We've got a 2 month sprint for the East.

I'm a little worried about Thor's innings. Pretty sure he has never pitched more than 135ish innings in a season and he is already at 120. He is insanely important to this team, not sure how they plan to handle that.

Making some trades at the deadline was important for team morale. I think they obviously helped the team, but it showed the fans (and the actual team) that leadership is committed to winning now.

I thought only hockey had stupid "insider" nicknames for everybody?

Well, it's an interesting question. Glad you brought it up. Mets fans are a different breed, a lot from Long Island, a lot of them never leave the area (like CoP'ers). Yes, a lot of them are greasy and yes, a lot of them are poor. They also pride themselves in not being Yankees fans. They pride themselves in misery and really share it with people who don't care.

To illustrate it more, its almost like in the Great Gatsby. New Money vs. Old Money.

This sounds a lot like ball's analysis of J-E-T-S fans.
