How long before Rub is shown the door or given a new role? Thoughts or given the look of people attending the games no one cares?

Probably end of the season. I can't imagine he will be retained and they'll want to get a new GM in right away and give him the chance to be involved in the process of hiring a new manager. I am sure RAJ is basically a GM only in name right now and will not be able to make any moves with approval first.

he is fired right after the trade deadline. guy has been horrible. clean house, fire everyone, start completely over.

If I'm a phils fan I hope this clears the way to trade Hamels. Rub probably couldn't do the deal because no one could be the one guy to lose a deal to Rub and Rub needed a clear win. Made it too tough for him to get a deal done and the Phils suffered as a result. I'd want MacPhail to come in and get this deal done ASAP.

MacPhail is an example of how bad the Phillies as an organization sucks. Generational hire, his family is known and friends with the organization, the guy put together winning teams 20 YEARS AGO, and won't fire Rube right away. I don't care that he got Adam Jones in the Bedard trade or signed Chris Davis. The guy is old school baseball in an era in which the game and technology has passed him. Maybe he'll prove me wrong but I find this extremely disappointing. He can make up for it though by firing Rube and hiring a young GM who actually uses and understands analytics.

TheFoyeEffect over here.

I said I would start paying attention when Ruben was fired. Sounds like it's gonna be a while longer. Redonkulous.

Great fan

Guilty as charged. Sorry I'm not a 4for4 schlep that supports anything and everything done as gospel. It's appalling this guy wasnt fired 2 yrs ago. I cant believe he's still around. I cant and wont support it until they admit their lapse in judgement in allowing him to stick around as he destroys the franchise.

Yeah but when they were good I also remember you saying you can't pay attention to a team so good because it's boring. So if you don't support them when they're good or when they're awful, then when do you support them?

I am willing to be patient, however, with the Sixers rebuild b/c it's a different situation entirely. For one, they had the foresight to blow up a playoff team that took the Celtics to 7 games a few yrs ago - b/c they realized the core wasnt good enough to make the next step. The NBA system is inherently flawed and broken and forces the teams in no man's land to get absolutely awful before they can get good again. Making the decision to realize that is something I can get behind and wait for.

The Phillies have been clearly and rapidly declining for years, and had zero foresight to do a thing about it, doing nothing but watching the assets they did/do have depreciate in value instead of moving them on beginning the next chapter sooner than later. That they couldnt realize their aging core was in no position to compete years ago is bordering on absurd. Even the tards on this board could see what was happening.

You took that literally?

None of you clowns could see this. I said way back in 2011 the Phillies were done with their core.
