Dear Alumni, Parents and Friends:

I am incredibly pleased to announce that the Villanova University School of Law has received a transformative $25 million gift from Charles "Chuck" Widger, Esq., '73 VLS, founder and executive chairman of Brinker Capital, as part of our comprehensive capital campaign, For the Greater Great: The Villanova Campaign to Ignite Change.

In honor of this historic commitment--the largest gift ever to the Law School and the second-largest gift in the University's history--the School will be named the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. Chuck shares our vision for a law school that is forward-thinking, while remaining true to its mission and history. His remarkable gift will continue Villanova Law's upward trajectory and further solidify its reputation as a leader and innovator in legal education.

It is only fitting that our Law School--the first named college or school at the University--now carries the name of an individual as dedicated to Villanova as Chuck Widger. An active alumnus, Chuck serves as a member of the Campaign Executive Committee and chair of the School of Law Campaign Committee. His belief in the goals of this campaign--cultivating academic innovation, enhancing financial aid and student opportunities, and securing future growth of the endowment--directly informed his gift.

Chuck's remarkable career--first as a lawyer, and then as the founder and CEO of the leading investment firm Brinker Capital--stands as a testament to the success of Villanova alumni. The exceptional achievements of our students, faculty, staff and alumni are propelling our University to new levels of excellence and recognition. The energy on and off campus is infectious, with more Villanovans than ever inspired to participate and to give back. To date, the Villanova Campaign to Ignite Change has raised more than $500 million toward our $600 million goal.

This is a special moment for the Law School and our entire University. Such generous support signals the strength of the Villanova experience and an unwavering confidence in its future. I am truly grateful to Chuck for his continued belief in our institution and in our community.

Please join me in thanking Chuck for his extraordinary generosity.

Sincerely,

Hoping we can pull together enough funds to get a Benchwarmers bench dedicated outside of Kennedy.

Very generous. A baller move to put your name on the front door.

Whats funny is that the two biggest donors to the law school in recent memory Widger and Moorad dont practice law.

That's because no one that graduated from there is worth a damn, all practicing shit law.

Wonder if we will ever see the Kennedy School of Law banner flying over Tremont at Suffolk?

It's pretty hard to make huge money as a lawyer. Even the best compensated practicing attorneys only make a fraction of what bankers do. If you've got the scratch to be giving away $25 million, chances are you didn't spend a career practicing law.

If it's true, he certainly still texts a lot from Prison about Mets/Nova. He didn't mention anything about jail after we spoke post-PC game -- must be keeping it effing low.

If Steve Avery can find a way talk on the phone from prison as much as he has - certainly a Miller can find a way to text from prison.
