Not much of a game story to report - Nova came out firing, hitting 15 of their first 21 shots to take a 25 point lead by the ten minute mark. The threes were falling, cutters were getting feeds and making layups and the two big girls (6-7 and 6-3) that Lafayette put out there had no impact on the game whatsoever. I think the 39 point winning margin is the most in at least 10 years. We took Providence by 83-48 in that magical year of 2002-2003, but that was only a 35 point margin.

Emily Suhey started in place of Taylor Holeman, but everyone saw action in this one. Laura Sweeney led the scorers with 17, including a three and added six boards. Lauren Burford hit 3 of 5 from long range to finish with 11 points and 5 assists. Rachel Roberts matched that on 4 of 5 shooting and Devon Kane had 10 on 3 of 5 from the field. The first half shooting totals were 7 of 11 from three point range and 17 of 29 overall. Nova led by 29 at the half and Lafayette never mounted a charge in the second half. Harry seemed to have the team working on the inside game for most of the second half, rather than continuing to shoot threes.

Sweeney hit the 600 career rebound mark in the Minnesota game and with her six in this game is within 4 of moving into the top ten in Nova career rebound leaders. Quietly efficient and almost always productive, she may finish in the top five or six in both the rebounding and career points leaders by the time this season is over. Quite an accomplishment.

Exhibition game vs. Bloomsburg State on Monday night. Not sure why this is an exhibition game when we played D II Philadelphia U. last year as regualar season game. In either case, D II games do not count toward the RPI detemination or the NCAA tournament selection. Nova's early season RPI stands at 69 with a strength of schedule of 93, so somewhere along the line we will need to beat more than a few good teams, especially in the Big East, in order to merit consideration for an NCAA tournament spot. The final RPI may actually mean something for us this year.

Thanks Terry. I will try and get to a few games this year. Heard some good things about the team. If we make the 3's, it alllows us to cut more, then also if we cut more it should create room for the 3. Whatever. Thanks for the update. Hope you are well.
