No splits or anything up on the penn website but neutts, lipari, mimic and reid finished 3rd, 3 sec. behind BC and Gtown. 3rd is tough, but to lose to 2 other Big East rivals is an even tougher pill to swallow. Be interested to get more details.
time of 17:28 which is about 4:22 per leg.

Here is what the Penn Relays website says about the 4 x 1500:

Just as Georgetown was the spoiler in Thursday’s college women’s distance medley relay championship, so Boston College dashed the Hoyas hopes of a distance double in Friday’s 4×1500. Thanks to a thrilling sprint from anchor Caroline King, the Eagles their first ever women’s Championship of America at the Penn Relays.

Richmond took the lead at the first exchange and held a wide margin halfway through the second leg. But BC’s Jillian King led a strong charge from the chase group to draw even at the exchange. Georgetown’s Renee Tomlin went to the front and slowly extended its lead. On the anchor leg BC’s King and Villanova’s Sheila Reid trailed the Hoyas’ Emily Infeld by as much as 30 meters with a lap to go. A big push from Reid brought the duo within striking distance, and King slingshot off the final curve to close quickly on Infeld.

Boston College hit the tape in 17:25.19, with Georgetown (17:25.65) and Nova (17:28.12) following.

Villanova's splits were:

Neutts: 4:21.7 (3rd fastest first leg)
Lipari: 4:26.9 (6th fastest second leg)
Mimic: 4:26.1 (2nd fastest third leg)
Reid: 4:13.4 (2nd fastest anchor -- BC's anchor went 4:12.2 and G'town's Infield went 4:16.9)

Lipari has had a tough penns thus far. OK times, but not super. Would have expected a bit more out of Mimic too. Sound like Reid had to bust it to get back into contention and then had nothing left for a kick. BC girl let her bring her back up to the leader and then went by them all. Smart move by the BC girl.

I was at Penn and just got home in central NY. With three hundred yards to go it was obvious tht the G'Town runner was starting to tie up. King and Shelia made their moves, and King just had a little bit more left in the tank. Incidentally King is another of the very good upstate NY distance runners, She is from Scotia in the Albany area.

Was surprised when I saw Neutts on the opening leg. I thought Hogan and McElroy had run better times. But Gina was certainly right. Neutts ran a very strong leg and had VU in 3rd.

Everything is relative I guess, but Lipari had nothing and actually hurt the team with her run. She basically lost touch with the leaders. She seemed lethargic. Maybe she still hasn't fuly recovered from the strep infection she had several weeks back.

I said relative because according to the reported times. Lipari was not much slower than Mimic. I didn't have a watch so I cannot argue with such reports, but it appeared that Lipari was way over-matched and was much slower than Mimic. But Mimic never lost ground although I do not believe she gained any ground either. Still, like someone said, it was a disappointing time for her. Didn't Mimic run around 4:20 recently?

Reid's run was probably the most dispiriting because of how she acted after the race.

Reid and King were well of the lead when the leg began. Reid was slightly ahead. The lead was so large it was if they were basically fighting for second. But they kept pushing until going into the final turn you realized that they may have a chance. Coming off the turn Reid and King both went. Reid unfortuantely faded and King kept coming and caught the girl from Georgetown. I think the girl from Georgetown was surprised she was caught. But it was Reid I paid attention to after the race was over.

She wanted nothing to do with anyone - including her team mates. They came over to embrace her or maybe console her and she walked away. Totally understand the feeling. It appeared that it wasn't the loss that had her down, but that her body had failed her. King is not the miler Reid is and Reid knows that, but when she went after Infield she "knew" that she would get her, but it did not happen... So one gets down and wants to be left alone and questions oneself. She seemed so dejected. Both Gina and Marcus need to talk with her to get her spirts and confidence back. She is an outstanding runner who had a bad day.

Maybe Reid has not fully recovered from her strep infection either.

Summary: VU needs to come up with another superior miler. Neutts was a surprise so that is a plus. I believe they all return next year, but unless they come-up with someone better than Lipari and Mimic, the results will be the same. Oregon and Stanford might be there in 2012. None of the recruits, however, are better than Lipari and Mimic. And Hogan has yet to regain her former proficiency.

I noticed the demeanor of all of the LadyCats after the race; they were really down. There is the pressure on our Cats. When they announced the placement of our 1958 4/mile relay team onto the Wall of Fame, I wondered what runners were present? I knew Charlie Stead who was the year behind me (1959) because he also was a teacher, and we met for a few years at conventions. I was in a class or two with Delaney, and we talked at some football tailgates. Ironically I didn't know G. Sydnor who went to Haverford High which was a block away from where I grew up.
