Autograph Seeking Jagoffs

These guys have to top the list of individuals I detest. At a cellular level. Grown ass men asking 22 year old dudes like Carson Wentz at the airport for their name on a piece of paper. LOSERS. Do these grown men not comprehend how this comes across? You're telling that person "hey man, you're a better man than me, sign this so I can wallow in shame at your feet". Then this jagoff at the airport starts booing Wentz when he wont sign. It's one thing if you have a kid with you. That's different. But if it's clearly for you it's well within the celebrities right to decline if he doesn't feel like it. As long as said celeb doesn't charge for autographs at a later date like jagoffs like Pete Rose do. That's even worse.

Once you graduate high school it's a violation to ask another man for an autograph. Stop embarrassing yourself.

Cryotherapy

Anyone on here try this? Not the freezing of the dead body (or head aka Ted Williams) but extreme cold therapy in a chamber. Temperatures get to around -220 to -240 below and moves the blood quite a bit. A whole host of potential benefits including reduced inflammation and fatigue. Have done 2 sessions each lasting 3 minutes. Felt good post but could be placebo.

Interested in the takes.

At my daughters first communion today

got to meet and chat with Gonzagas director of admissions who happened to also be Kris's social studies teacher back in the day. She is the mom of my Gonzaga "source", a buddy who is the youngest of a Gonzaga/gtown fam but who ended up at X.

So nothing earth shattering but pretty cool to hear her and her husband, a gtown prof, rave about the kid about how happy he is at nova and how proud the whole Gonzaga community is of him. She said he was a full of life kid, very popular and that he was always just so well liked. She also said, and my buddy confirmed this, that there was quite disappointment when Britt decided to transfer. People there obviously thought it was purely for hoops and was kind of a factory he was going to and she said Jenkins actually was asked about going too but loved Gonzaga so much and according to her, he really was cognizant of how much Gonzaga did for him from an education standpoint.

I finally told her to tell Lykes that nova really wa to him. She said he is a lot different that Jenkins; very intense and serious.

OT: New Orleans or Savannah

While we're on an OT kick - figured I'd throw in one of my own...

Wife and I want to do a long weekend in late August or early September for our anniversary. It's down to either New Orleans or Savannah -- neither of us have ever been to either.

Any recommendations on which place to choose are much appreciated, as are recommendations of things to do and see in either city. Thanks in advance.

Mark Jackson and Football

Is anyone aware if the new AD has any plans to promote football differently in an effort to get more people in the stands, and make the game day experience better?? I have always thought that football is simply tolerated at Villanova. I was hoping that Jackson, having a football background, would embrace the program, instead of just having the same old some old in terms of support.

Dookie Again

Things begin to get a little slow this time of year, so just relaying the below anecdote.

Following up on my previous thread about my Duke work colleague – he has always done very well in the annual Company NCCA tournament pool and really gets into it doing deep dive analysis, watching multiple games at the same time with 2 -3 TV sets. Last year he picked Nova to win it all – as we all know that did not come to pass, but despite that he was still able to win the company pool. Everyone was on him because he won, but picked the wrong champion.

At his retirement lunch last fall, I had the opportunity to roast him a bit and I went over his stellar reputation for always doing well in the Company NCAA pool, I then went on to say that everyone was wrong for getting on him for winning the pool but picking the wrong team when in fact he had indeed picked the right team going with Nova. The problem was he just picked the wrong year! I then presented him with a framed picture of the 1985 Villanova Championship team :)
