I was ready for a hoops,and football VU weekend. Friday night hoops vs a weak team and football against a very good team. Then the bad guys butted in. I am pissed. WE must go after these guys.
I may be wrong, but I think US is next on their list.

Bergen Catholic currently sits atop the Big North United Standings after knocking off SJR and DePaul back to back weeks. Add that to an early season victories over PC and St Peters Prep and BC is poised to run the table in the regular season vs NJ opponents w a victory next weekend over that slimeball, Toal and DBP. Only losses this year coming to #1 team in Ohio (St Edwards) and football factory IMG Academy out of FL.

I understand FDU not Virginia,but every player has shown skill and IQ...Bridges a pleasant surprise and Reynolds built like a battleship and had some nice finishes....Hart very unselfish,Arch solid as ever,DO a load,Jenkins looks better,DD a jumping jack...and Brunson plays like a veteran.....I guess we will have to play some Big teams for a true test,but just watching individuals,they can all contribute .

i get what Jay is trying to do, but I'm not a fan of it. We don't have the height up top or on the back line wings to make it effective, and all that results is wide open threes. Maybe it is a stop-gap like Coach K used last year, who by the way didn't touch zone the entire NCAA after before forced into it earlier in the season when his man defense was exposed. I understand the need to protect Ochefu of course....but at some point Reynolds needs to be a steady back up.

last year the league went on a tear out of the gate ... this year, Marquette suffered the league's first loss on opening night (83-80 to Belmont). Interestingly, Haanif Cheatham got the start over Sandy Cohen but the Marquette starters shot 2-18 from beyond the arc. Traci Carter had 5 dimes off the pine for Marquette.

St. John's beat Wagner 66-57 - opened it up in the second half.Federico Mussini and Durand Johnson were the only double-figure scorers for Johnnies. Johnson 2-10 from floor.

Seton Hall was an 84-67 winner over Dartmouth. Whitehead with 18, Carrington with 13, Gordon off the bench with 14 - Desi Rodriquez had 13 and Delgado pulled 9 boards.

The other game last night in BE play was X beating Miami (OH) 81-72 ... giving up 40 points in the first half at home - does that indicate another year where they score the ball like crazy but struggle to defend? Jalen Reynolds with 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 steals. Macura came off the bench while Frosh, Rdmond Sumner dropped in 19 in a starting role - maybe we keep an eye on his development. 6-5 guard out of the motor city.

I was interested is seeing both the kids and the team since I have been having
problems with Rivals and Nova Nation.

On O it seems that in the first half we seemed to play the younger big kids more.
We ran some beautiful screen and rolls and screen and pops. Against their zone in the second half,
we had one or two ball reversals, but not enough. We shot many quick shots with only a single pass.

On D, everything we have thought about came true. We try to slow the possessions down with
the 3/4 court trap while we attacked for steals in the half court trap. Our zone was rather flat, and they
didn't attack it too well. But they were horrendous with going horizontal guard to guard passes against
a zone. I mentioned this 15 years ago.

I know who we played and how we played and the season is long. But for this my first look, I like Reynolds and #25. I can't remember # 25's name because I am having severe neurological problems.
