Suggestion for the New AD

Someone on the Nova football board ....suggested that one of the things you may want to put on your "To Do" list is to create a Villanova "live Stream" for football and other sporting events.
I Think that's a great Idea... I guess we are questioning how Fordham and lesser athletic programs can have their own feed. If they can do it certainly Villanova should be able to to it.. I know about total access....and after I bought it I vowed never to use it again.

It sounds like a great way to bring the Nova alumni together and support the football program and other Nova sports.

September Thoughts

A little extra excitement for me this year for Nova, my little cousin is a frosh and has been sending text about seeing Jay and the players on campus. It has gotten me pumped for the season more than ever, a couple thoughts as recruiting is ramping up with decisions and the schedule coming out:

I love our schedule, think it is awesome, Jay things we can get the Philly regional and I think so too. Love challenging ourselves UVA on the road, Oklahoma in Hawaii, think some of the teams in Brooklyn will surprise. I just overall really like how challenging it is. Easy for us NYers, NJers and CTers to come down and catch a weekend game at Wachovia too. Place will be rocking this year for sure. Nothing like a Saturday Wachovia game.

Recruiting wise, we have come to a tough intersection for 2016. We have two very good guards in Booth and Brunson, we have Donte who is the kind of kid who is going to earn minutes with his hard work and skill set too. To be honest I think there is a spot here for a guard BUT that guard is going to have to be willing to not play a heck of alot of minutes, my personal opinion is we wait for 2017, where it seems we are going after some top flight guards. It make sense to me as Hart will be gone and maybe Brunson so there is room.

I admire how hard Jay and his staff are going after some guys, it is tough to sell forwards who want to play right away when you have Spellman, Jenkins, Hart, Paschall, Bridges, Delaney at the 3,4,5 next year. There just arent that many minutes, Hunter would have been icing on the cake and to be honest in the long run Painter may be the better option (improve over 2 years, more insurance if Spellman leaves) and we can still go after top guys in 2017.
My main question is just how teams are going to guards us? Booth and Brunson are about as good dribble drive players we have had since Randy, Kyle. we have surrounded them with size that can shoot. If we stay healthy this team is just so dangerous.

Personally I am excited, we are going to have another 2 years of a tourney caliber team. Our last two years we have had some great teams and great players, these teams will have more talent in my opinion, now if they can execute like prior year teams and play the hard nosed defense we are accustomed too good things are going to happen.

Enjoy football season, personally after watching the Giants, I am already on to college basketball.

Temple/PSU 27-10

Surprised that no one had posted anything about Temple's resounding win over Penn State in their sellout game at the Linc even after there were opinions on this board that we shouldn't play Temple which we will do for at least a two year stint.

Congratulations to the Owls for coming back from a 0-10 deficit to win 27-10. They clearly humbled their unhappy valley visitors with their solid win while holding PSU scoreless following their 0-10 start. I know a number of PSU fans who are not at all enamored with their current coach even last year. They complained that their QB seems to have regressed under their new coach. Looked that way yesterday. My buddy Rick is disappointed although not too sad since he got his Phd at Temple.

Temple looked solid in many ways. Might the Happy Valley football crowd now be eyeing a new coach from Temple.

Who Is Going To Alumni/Athletic Fund Pregame?

Looks like close to 200. Which is amazing considering I never got any info on the event. Another great promotion.
Last week at UConn one of our greatest football fans, sat behind me at the game. He asked if Nova held a pre game. I said did you not receive an e-mail? He said no. This Alum is a past president of the VU General Alumni Association, long, long, time season football and basketball holder .Long time Annual Fund and Wildcat Club fund raiser. Plus he bought three tickets for UConn game. For him not to be informed about the pre game is unbelievable
Hope to see some posters at the pregame.
