The Senate

Obviously, GOP is disappointed in prez election, but I think they have to be even more mad at themselves for the Senate outcome. They had that thing put on a tee for them. Of 33 up for vote, 23 were incumbent Dem seats and many were really vulnerable. They should have control of that thing today and they blew it. They even lost seats, it boggles the mind how poorly guys like Scott Brown, Akun, and Mourdock campaigned. It was amateur hour.

At least they got Michelle Bachmann back in her house seat, congrats.

Fiscal Cliff

What was Obama's plan again? I'm not sure that I caught it during the debates or while watching the countless commercials about "women's rights" and contraception.

Same cast of characters that brought us the wonderful concept of sequestration.

What's the over/under on the next Moody's or S&P downgrade of our debt? I'll say February 15th.

Rasmussen v Huff Post E-Maps

It will be interesting to see whose electoral map prediction is closer. Rasmussen has Obama up 237-206 with only Nevada as a lean. He has Romney in the lead in Colorado, Iowa, Virginia, Fla, NHamp....and tied in Ohio & Wisconsin. If Obama won Ohio and Wisc...their final tally would be 271-269. Huffington Post has Obama up 277-1191 with winning Nevada, Iowa, Wisc, and Ohio. They have an Obama lead in Col, Vir, NH, and Florida with Romney taking NC. That would give Obama a 332-206 margin. Personally, I think Romney takes Florida and NC but loses the rest narrowly for a final total of 303-235 Obama.

Ohio - Deciding Factor Or Not?

All eyes are obviously on Ohio tomorrow, but just curious if folks here think that it will be the deciding factor.

While I'll certainly watching Ohio closely as well, I have a feeling that it won't ultimately make a difference. I'm not necessarily calling for a "landslide" either way, but I think that the margin of victory will be wide enough that the final results will show that the winner could have ultimately lost Ohio and still gotten to 270+. If Romney takes Ohio, for example, then I think he grabs CO, WI, possibly PA or MI, etc.

I still don't really get why the sports books and Intrade show Obama as a 2:1 favorite given that nearly every single national and swing state poll shows a close race.

Early Voting in FL

With the talk in the other thread of democrats rigging elections, I note no one has mentioned the fact that the State of Florida, with its Republican House and Senate, and Republican Governor, eliminated early voting on the Sunday before the election. Now why would they do that? Anyone?

Gasoline

It's getting very bad here in Nj. If this continues into the weekend, I can't see the President winning. Too much not to report here. Fights at gas stations. People are extremely frustrated. He needs to buy himself a diesel tanker and drive it back here from Wsconsin. I know he's in a tough political predicament. But if he sent President Clinton in his stead to all his appearances and he got back on the ground and on the phone and directed supplies to Nj and Staten Island, it would work all parties involved.

It's getting REALLy bad here

Mr president you dropped the ball again

Since you got your photo op in with Gov Christie where are you

You have turned your back on the American people again. The liberal media and party rips

Romney for gathering food clothes and blankets to send to ny. These are exactly the items that

people need. The American Red Cross is handing out cookies and hot chocolate

I guess you need a few more days of campaigning since they will be your last

Get the moving vans ready because your time is over

Defense Spending - Candidates compared

Those of you concerned about defense spending, here's Romney's plan compared to Obama's and sequestration. It would be roughly 50% higher than the peak budget of the Reagan years (using constant dollars). I have to wonder, what exactly is he planning? To invade Russia? Is this the fiscal conservative of which you all speak?

(4% plan refers to Romney's goal of defense spending = at least 4% of GDP).

The Donald

If he really cared about the city that made him famous, he would take the $5 Million he earmarked for the President and donate it to the NYPD and NYFD members who lost their homes over the weekend.

But he's a jamoke and would rather interject himself in a political debate he has no business being involved in.

Jeeps made in China?

Any Romney supporters want to comment on the blatant lie from Mitt and his people that Jeep was going to shift all its manufacturing to China? Or that the government sold Chryser to "the Italians" (Fiat)? Does Mitt really think that he can make up whatever he wants and nobody will get the facts?

Well, This Will Be An Interesting Social Experiment

People entering one of Bank of Oklahoma's 85 branches in the state need not leave their weapon in the car. They can bring it inside. Similarly, customers of American Eagle Towing in Oklahoma City will find that they and their holstered handguns are welcome. Mr. Hull is the general manager, and he openly wears a Ruger LC9 pistol while at the office.

Ann Coulter

She's at it again. Gotta hand it to that woman, she sure does know how to use hot button issues for self promotion. No idea what her values are, but I can guarantee you that she knew what she was doing when using specific language in her tweets, she knew it would cause a firestorm, and she knew she would get a ton of media and public attention over it and it would help her sell a ton of books in the future. She is a PR whore.

She is a firm believer in there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Gotta believe the Romney campaign isn't too excited about her on this one.
