Villanova freshman Jahvon Quinerly has apologized for his controversial instagram post that went up following Tuesday's loss to Penn.

While an apology was to be expected, it's still good to see. Assuming that he still wants to be a part of the program, hopefully he realizes that his time will come and there is a major role there for the taking if he can do the right things.

Hopefully this can all be put to rest and everyone can move on and start taking the steps towards Quinerly having the type of impact we all expected him to have.

Quinerly Vents on Instagram Following Loss to Penn

Couple of things first. 1. I hate to pile more negativity onto an already frustrating night or add to the mounting concerns and 2. I'm keeping this in the subscribers forum because I don't want to put an 18-year old kid on blast for being understandably frustrated, but felt that it's something you all deserve to be aware of...so here it is...

This is just an incredibly brutal look for Quinerly. This obviously won't sit well with coach Wright, his teammates, or Villanova fans, nor does it paint a flattering picture to other coaches or scouts. It's hard to imagine how he could think this was in any way a good idea.

However, it's easy to understand his frustration and 18-year olds don't always make the best decisions. Hopefully this is an isolated boiling over and can be addressed and perhaps even lead to everyone getting on the same page.

Regardless, it's a disappointing lapse in judgement from Quinerly and the last thing Villanova needs right now as they try to figure things out and find some success this season. We'll post any updates here.

Mikeal Brown-Jones (Mikeal Jones) Down To Five, Includes Nova

Mikeal Brown-Jones, a Philadelphia native who had been at Girard College and is now at IMG Academy in Florida, has declared a top five per Pat Lawless. Joining Nova is La Salle, Penn State, St. Joe's and Temple.

I'm going to assume the first thing that jumps out at you is the other names on the list. It's understandable to feel like Nova shouldn't be in recruiting battles with it's Big 5 brethren or what is basically a football school. But from the little bit I've seen of Jones, I think he'd be a great fit at Villanova, and it never hurts to assert dominance in the local recruiting area.

He has had a Villanova offer since August 2017.
