Nova Contacts Another Notre Dame Decommit

It appears Villanova isn't throwing the towel in on the 2023 class just yet.

After reaching out to Notre Dame decommit Parker Friedrichsen last month, Villanova has reportedly contacted another Irish decommit. This time it's Brady Dunlap.

A 6-7 shooting guard, Dunlap is a three-star prospect. Like Friedrichsen, Dunlap has a reputation as a shooter.

Other schools reportedly involved include Wisconsin, Seton Hall, Oregon, UCLA, TCU, Saint Mary's and Butler.

Virtually all the attention this spring will be on the transfer portal and the 2024 class, it appears we have a little something to keep an eye on in the 2023 class as well.

Nova Appears to be Drawing Interest From 2024 SG Jaiden Glover

2024 shooting guard Jaiden Glover, who received a Nova offer in late January, appears to be showing significant interest in the Wildcats.

Glover was in attendance at Tuesday's win over Seton Hall and is expected to attend Saturday's game against UConn. In addition, Glover is in the process of scheduling an official visit to Villanova.

This is by far the most activity we've seen from any 2024 target, and the timing here is interesting as well with attending two consecutive games and working to set up an official visit. There certainly seems to be some momentum here.

Kris Parker to Announce College Decision Friday

Villanova will gain some further clarity on its 2023 recruiting class on Friday when Kris Parker announces his college decision. Parker, a four-star G/F who is ranked 80th in his class by Rivals, will choose between Villanova, Alabama, Missouri and UCF.

Parker's recruitment has been pretty quiet, so not a whole lot of info on potential lean or a certain program in the lead here.

Nova Offers Elite 2025 G Meleek Thomas

The Cats continue to stay busy on the recruiting trail and are taking a big swing with their latest offer, which has gone out to elite five-star 2025 guard Meleek Thomas out of Pittsburgh. Thomas is listed at 6-3 and is currently ranked as the No. 7 prospect in the class of 2025.

Some other schools currently pursuing Thomas include Indiana, Penn State, Missouri, Kansas State, St. John's and Pitt.

Report: Nova Interested in Recent Notre Dame Decommit

We are hearing reports that Nova has reached out to 2023 sharpshooter Parker Friedrichsen, who is currently ranked No. 132 in his class. Friedrichsen was a Notre Dame commit but was granted his release with the news that Mike Brey was stepping away from the Irish.

Friedrichsen is listed at 6-4 and is from Oklahoma. It sounds like opportunity and style are the factors he is giving the most weight in his decision. As far as opportunity, like most elite players, he wants to have a chance to make an immediate impact. Stylistically, it seems he wants an offense that doesn't hesitate to let the threes fly. Interestingly, Nova would seem to check both boxes, adding a bit of intrigue to the potential here.

Just how serious the interest is from Nova remains to be seen, as does if that interest is being reciprocated. However, it certainly seems like something to keep an eye on as Nova remains with a one-man 2023 class and is set to have more outgoing players than incoming.

Some other schools noted to be pursuing Friedrichsen are Creighton, Nebraska, Wake Forest, Kansas and Davidson.

Programming Note

Just a heads up, I'll be out of town this weekend. As such, can't be sure I'll be able to have eyes on the game on Saturday. I will do my best to do so and have recap/reaction/postgame quotes, but if you don't see anything on the game, that's why. Should be back on schedule for Tuesday.
