Butler @ Xavier 1PM (Xavier 83-74, 78%)

Marquette @ Georgetown 5:30 PM (Georgetown 75-68, 75%)
Villanova @ Creighton 10 PM (Villanova 80-73, 75%)

Creighton is ranked #64 in kenpom and projected to finish 9-9 in BE league play. That is why there is a 25% chance 'Nova gets knocked off tonight per his model. Creighton's defense has been average this year and their offense has been very good. They get good shots and convert them. They have not been a good FT shooting team.

Arch

It was said when he was a FR but our opponent's fanbases have to feel like he has been here 7 years and can't wait for him to graduate. It was also mentioned that he would have GMAC career here, which he has. He has been so efficient shooting the ball, I wish he shot more. The fact this is his last rodeo gives me faith we have a deep March run. We will have more talent next year but his leadership will be missed.

'Nova-Creighton gamewatch at Gullifty's

If you're looking for somewhere to watch Villanova take on Creighton tomorrow night, a bunch of us will be getting together at Gullifty's (http://www.gulliftys.com/) at 1149 Lancaster Ave. in Rosemont. Although the game isn't scheduled to start until just after 10 p.m. on FOX Sports 1, we'll have a large portion of the bar area reserved from 9:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.

All ages are welcome!

Some random thoughts

1. We beat a top-10 team by 30 points, which would seem to indicate we played great the whole game. I guess we did. But we were still much better with Josh Hart on the floor. We cannot afford to have him sitting on the bench in foul trouble. He needs to be a little more careful, and Jay needs to do a better job getting him off the floor with 1 foul early in the first half or 3 fouls early in the second.

2. I hate our zone. Hate. It.

3. I try not to hate actual people, so I am working through my feelings on J.P. Macura.

4. Loved what Kris Jenkins did today at less than 100%. He is making people pay when they press up on his 3-point game.

5. Creighton is a dangerous game for us. Watch out.

Shopping For Interior House "Art"

Is there a more insufferable task in life? Holy sh*t. I'm supposed to care about this crap that's just gonna end up in a f*cking box in this basement next year? She claims I'm supposed to care tho she's known since Day 1 I'm the least artsy f*ck on the planet. Why are women's DNA encoded with the never-ending need to waste $ on JUNK? Turrible, Charles. Here's some $, go buy it yourself and let me watch football. Christ.

I thought we played with a chip on our shoulder for the first time...

I'm sure we had a couple performances last year that looked as dominating as yesterday's, and I think it is impossible to ignore the fact that X losing their most important player helped. However, I thought yesterday we came out as focused and with an attitude I haven't seen probably since our second Gtown match up last year. Even before Sumner went down, it looked clear that our guys were not going to get pushed around and the seniors in particular were setting the tone.

I have to wonder how much the combination of the now expected March swoons and seeing the likes of Xavier, Butler and Providence all ranked above us fired them up and allowed them to approach the game with something to prove. I hope they bottle this aggression and desire for the NCAA's, as I think that mental mindset will give them a huge boost against whoever they match up with.

Cardealer Bob, This Is For You

At Monday's Penn game I was sitting high in the student section. When I see this 30 something guy walking up the aisle wearing a good looking blue and gold Michigan jersey. Closely followed by too very young boys wearing Arch"s # 15 Villanova game jerseys. Here is a guy who is obviously a Michigan fan with his kids in Villanova blue and white. I thought of you and then so many other great VU Alumns from Detroit that I have the pleasure to know..

thrinder

Thought it would be a joke. If you're in NYC or Sf at least it's legit. Tinder for 3somes. Lot of couples from the Burning Man community on there.

Also, heading to Puerto Vallarta today last minute. Staying at the Hilton. Anyone with recommendations on places to go?

Even for Eberzzz this recent trip east was debaucherous. Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Years.

One of Jay's Best

I thought yesterday was one of Jay's best games, in a long line of great ones, as our coach. Our team was really ready to play and Jay was just as intense as our team was. The thing that impressed me the most was the different lineup combinations that he was employing. Although some of that creativity may have been born out of Jalen feeling sick and Josh in foul trouble, I'd like to see him mix and match like that again when we play high quality opponents with athletic guards. It was brilliant roster management. Although it sure helps to shoot the lights out, it seemed like Jay had them prepared to beat Xavier's D and get our guys the multiple open looks that lead to better shooting percentages. Cap tip to Jay and entire staff for an incredible performance yesterday!
