To wipe away two great regular seasons, 60-some wins. The highs and lows of one and done in the NCAA tournament. Last night I was angry that we had let a high seed slip away again this year. Sitting through this Virginia game was just brutal. Now I want to sit back and hope every team I don't like suffers the same heart break

Thankfully, we SHOULD have a really good regular season next year.

Hopefully another high seed.

Please no "ESPN hates us" threads if/when the pundits predict an early outing 51 weeks from now. Hopefully next year will be there year we end the draught.

Feel like Nova and UVA were two of the toughest defensive teams in the country this year but both lost because they couldn't put the ball in the basket.

I've never started two threads in one day, forgive me, but this board has been very therapuetic today, thank you all. Good to vent and discuss events of yesterday. Here's what finally made me laugh a few minutes ago. Through the emotions of that horrible game last night + at least 2 bottles of wine (one during, possibly 1.5 after) I totally forgot about firing in my lock bet of the century: 'Nova -8 in 2H, until I logged in a few minutes ago and looked at my account. One more kick in the a$$, but seeing that all I could do was laugh at myself. Can't wait until the fall. Thanks everyone, Go Cats!

Darth Vader of ACC dark side assigned one of his secondary teams to take out VU. Except for seniors Flash
Gordon Hillard , Iron Man Pinkston and rookie side kick Booth the rest of the team was in a trance. Flash Hillard was blazing away until the clock struck midnight. He went 8-18 but the way things were going he should have taken 5-10 more shots including the one for the win with 20 secs. left that Ennis missed. Iron man Pinkston was last seen surrounded by giant Strom Troopers as he had to keep charging into the breech to collect fouls. JVP got no help from his wing man the Chef. Team out rebounded 45-32, Ouch! In limited time Booth hit 3 of 4 3 pointers but had trouble defending bigger, tougher guards. As noted the rest of the team was under a big man induced zombie like state.

Need a Sci-Fi explaination for the destruction of this season. Although the answer as always is that size matters. Cats need to recruit more bigs because the 4 guard offense always ends badly. Its clear a number of bigger teams than NC St. would have taken the Cats to the woodshed.

UVA also fell early. But the Uber Dark Side team, Kentucky awaits.

...regular season as strictly practice for the NCAA next year and slot Darryl Reynolds at the 4 as a starter and just let him play and let's see what he's got...I don't care if we pile up losses because of it as long as we get into the NCAA's...long term I think the kid can will show he can play and will fill our biggest weakness...give me Danny at the 5, Reynolds at the 4 and everyone else at the guards/SF positions...imho his development is the key for this team next year once we get into the tourney...I think he can become the equivalent of Reynolds at Providence...you can pile on now....

I haven't and was wondering if he said anything out of the ordinary or was he in shock? I don't feel like searching for it, just wanted to know if anyone has heard or seen it.

It's extremely hard to win in the NCAA Tournament. This is why I was super excited that this team won the regular season and Big East Tournament. I am very disappointed with the game tonight but we are a very good program that has not done well in the tournament lately. This was a great season with an awful ending but we will be back again next season. Just so very tough to see Hilliard go but we have studs like Hart and Booth to take over as the offensive leaders. I look forward to next season because that is all we have but we will be very good again. Brunson will be fun to watch as well.

If Lenard Freeman had committed, would he be used the same way as Daryl Reynolds. Rememberboth Pinkston and Ochefu were here and Jenkins had already signed. Was our intention merely to recruit a role player ?

so these are the guys who beat us...btw none of these guys ave.20 mins. a game...

abu - averages 4.5 rebounds a game,he is a inexpierenced freshman as is 6' 8 230 lbs... not exactly moses malone...

washington - 4.3 rebounds a game,,he is a sophmore and is 6' 9'' 230 lbs.

anya - a woping 4.4 rebounds per game,,and his 6' 9'' 300 frame should of been to our advantage ( think josh smith )

freeman - leads at 5.5 rebounds per game...he is just a sophmore...and last time i checked all four of these guys can't
be on the floor at the same time,,,

WE LOST BECAUSE ARE GUARDS GOT EXPOSED TO NC STATES MEDICORE GUARDS,,,same story over and over
again nc state guard blows by our guards,,our bigs come out to help,,leaving our interior vunerable...

and just for the record if anyone would like to bring up the fact that nc state is better overall in rebounding margin than us...
the only reason is because nova shots a hell of a lot better from the field than nc state...since villanova shoots a ton of
3 point shots,,nova would have more rebounds on misses...

They have to feel as bad as we do.

Jay should take Izzo out to his favorite Italian Restaurant and pick his brain for awhile. Amazing how this guy gets it done year after year no matter how good his team is.

Shooting even worse than Nova last night. What I have a tough time with is how could we have played so badly and been outplayed by NCS and have lost by only 3 points?
