Bryce Harper ejection

Wow - this is one of the most worst I've seen by an ump. I assume Harper will get fined for his comments, but he is spot on.

I have to admit, I wanted to hate him when he first came up but how can you? He is a very good player, fun to watch. I know some people get turned off by his "attitude", but I don't mind it at all.

It's very fun to watch him play everyday. If you love baseball at a minimum you love watching him play. He's balls to the wall. Some won't like it. He can be a dick. He's my favorite player. Not bad for a bust. Oh, and he's 22.

And the ump should be fired. What a joke. Too bad as the yanks series was awesome. Park was rocking. Rendon should return soon. The Nats are a very fun team to follow. I won't hate if anyone wants to jump on the bandwagon. Plenty of room.

guys like Harper and Bryant are great for baseball. umps are aholes, always have been. they are jealous of the players and do their best to make it about them. same in basketball with Joey Crawford and in the NFL with Ed Muscleflex.

I was hoping to see a cooler come out of the dugout. Completely warranted IMO. I'll be interested to see what the league does. I don't see a fine coming. The ump was clearly wrong.

What part do they not understand about: you can't argue balls and strikes and/or show up an umpire over a ball/strike call?

That wasn't even an outrageous call - might have caught the front of the strike zone.

Harper wasn't the one arguing, it was Williams. He was thrown out for not being the box. If the new argument the ump is attempting to make is that he was run for arguing balls and strikes then he'll be running guys all year. The guy got into it with Harper in another game, lost his mind and ran him. We can try to be contrarian and defend the ump but that's futile. The ump was clearly wrong.

Harper has the sort of attitude that Pete Rose or Lenny Dykstra did -- very fun to watch and root for in a baseball player, especially if he's on your team, but even if he's not. May not translate as well off the field for some of those guys.

It was a dumb ejection. The timing was weird. But what's the point of even arguing with an umpire in the first place? When does that work out?
